Go out of state or something if you want the S550. Do not deal with this dealer any longer.

It's All Star Ford in Pittsburgh. The general manager told me that all cars they sell have a $3k mark up "because there is not much profit in them" but couldn't explain why it was over $5k for me.

I'm never going back to them and I think they burned the bridge of my friends who were loyal customers for years and always referred friends to them.

(They bought a 2014 F250 limited, 2014 Ford Edge, used mini cooper s, a 2015 F250 platinum, 2015 Mustang GT with all options when they first came out within the last few years and brought mutual friends over to them... they were looking to buy a plug in hybrid for a commuter car and waiting on the gt500 to trade in the S550)

Yeah, well... no. All cars they sell do NOT have $3K markup and the profit is in service... that's horseshit.

don't talk monthly payments with the dealer, they will destroy you....talk OTD price. and Any dealership that has a "market adjusted price" should go fuck themselves. Its a mass produced mustang, not a collector car. use the TRUCAR price as a benchmark and try and do better.

Shop around...I dont get why anyone would pay full price for these cars

Thanks everyone for the advice, I ended up going to a smaller and local Chevy dealership and got a 2017 Camaro 2SS, 6 Speed with magnetic ride control, dual mode exhaust (kinda loud, kinda louder, droney loud) and a few other small things for a bit under $49K OTD, It stickered at a little over $46K (California has a bunch of fees and I had them add a sealant coat thing $800 that I have to get an appointment made for)

In the end, it cost less than getting raped on a Mustang but more on the not getting raped offer they gave on the same Mustang... Just the sales experience was super pleasant, Found out the general manager actually lives close by me and has actually lived down the street from me before, So he worked quite hard to get me all the discounts he could find and took a little off the cars MSRP (i'm now a costco member).

Certainly not the deal of the century, But I'm happy with it...

I'll still drop in from time to time as my really good friend still has his S550 and I'm going to start to motivate him to start playing with his car more.

I'm a car enthusiast, not a brand loyalist so I appreciate both cars in the rivalry equally.

I test drove both cars today and the Camaro definitely felt stronger (especially down low). I still like and want the mustang, but the shifter still needs work.
