I was on the Volkswagen page and noticed that they have a tracking feature for new cars. All you have to do is enter your order number and you can see where your car currently is, surely Ford should invest in something like this.

Well they may have it but my order number and dealer code don't work so I assume USA only...

Mine doesn't work either. Surely our cars should be tracked as well, even if it was only to the docks in Baltimore.

I'm actually not too sure about that. It worked for me and I'm in Canada, however it could be limited to just North America in that case.

Would you prefer your car manufacturer to either:
a - focus on the design and build of cars that perform as described, but don't do such a good job of providing customers with "self service" tracking tools, or:
b - invest in fancy tools that provide consumers with the illusion of them being a "user friendly" company while in fact deliberately cheating on governmnet emmission tests to be able to sell their cars at lower prices?

of course it isn't an "either/or" - they should be able to do both parts well, but remember that Ford just are not set up to sell these (relatively) low volume cars - their main business model is chasing volumes.

Don' t be fooled by the VW tracking system, its also a crock of shit... A guy i work with just bought a disco megger mix Golf and he attempted to track his car, only to find his car was back and forth in build just like our experiences... The upshot is; we all know VW fib
