Not sure if they are getting worse but I had a good look round a new dealer demo GT the other day and it was horrendous !

The bumpers in particular were all over the place. Parked next to a Focus RS it looked very poor to be honest.

Yeah, not trying to put the Mustang down because I love it, but fit and finish is appalling compared to the Euro Fords.

I felt the previous generation S197 was ok regarding fit and finish from the ones I have seen. In particular the facelift 5.0 cars from '11 onwards seem good - nice almost ! Flat Rock built as well.

Not sure why some of these new ones seem to be coming through so poor ?

More tech, more spec, more performance and higher production volumes to meet demand from the global markets it's being sold into ... but at roughly the same price point as the S197. Something has to give I suppose.

As we're all anticipating the 2018 on cars will be more expensive, let's hope the build quality improves as well.

Mine is OK paint wise, but the panel alignment is poor. After 8700 miles it's also developing some dash creaks, which is annoying!

Just take it back to Ford, tell them to straighten it up, what I did, they sorted it, the brackets are metal, most the holes are slotted, so there is plenty of adjustment to get these lined up and straight.

Can't help you with dash creeks, I've being lucky 15,000 miles in and she rides as silent as the day I got her and no signs of wear on seats like some have had, but thats probably more user than fault of car.

But you have a warranty, so make use of it and if you don't trust them, find a decent body shop and get them to adjust for you. :)
