JR265, my base R, isn't going anywhere. I'm more of a GT4 / GT350S sort of guy, so unless they come up with some form of stripped down GT500, it's not really on my radar.

My R stays with me. Worst case scenario, I've already thought about what I'd do if the engine starts to drink. I couldn't part with the original block to the R for just an oil consumption issue. I'd have it rebuilt by a pro. Been following the Honeybadger thread.
Exactly. A valve job would most likely solve an oil consumption problem. If done right, it probably wouldnt happen again. I'm even considering a dedicated engine for track use. Why not? I've already got a new transmission laying around....

Back on track..... I would sell one of my R's, but only to get a base R. Certainly not to get a 500.

Same here: no way I’m trading - I plan on parking them next to each other.

As the owner of a base GT350 I will be looking to "upgrade". Too tempting to pass on a GT500. I bought what I thought was a bargain at the time but in my mind and in reality I missed out on the true potential of this car in not having the additional coolers and magride etc. On the personal side I need to get out of the third pedal business due to some lingering ankle issues anyhow, so the DCT is perfect. I understand the GT500 is a different animal but I'm excited for it.

Keeping my R for all the reasons mentioned and for one other. Over production

It reminds me of the scene in Gone in 60 Seconds when Cage is in the Ferrari dealership.

A GT500 makes you a 'self indulgent wiener' but a GT350R makes you a 'connoisseur' :clap::sunglasses:

who am I kidding, I will probably end up with a 500 also :crackup::captain:
