The supplement manual advises not to use the Gurney for street use and only track use. Wonder why it’s not recommended on street use?

Gas mileage. Probably worth a tenth or two for both gurney flap & wickers. May have driven a higher category of Gas Guzzler Tax?
I think most installed them and leave them on (I did).

Doubt it. I hit about 160 on the back straight at COTA. I’ll bet others hit the 180 mph speed limiters at Daytona. Waiting for a report....
So if anybody knows.....

How is the speed limiter actuated?

Mine are on also (Gurney flap and front wickers).
I put mine on the day I took my car home.
I asked one of the Track Attack Instructors about this and he told me it cuts down on gas mileage since I don't care about that it's staying on it looks great

I may leave them off until I can make a few 1/4 runs at the drag strip. Then put them on and leave them. Hopefully conditions will be similar and I’m consistent enough to compare the times to determine if they slow the car down. I doubt I will be consistent enough to notice until I make several runs in the car though.

No clue. Haven’t found anything published.
I know rev limiters have varying logic: start by cutting ignition, eventually fuel cut-off.
Newer logic may take control of the throttle position?
You might be our test case. :frown:

I was told it adds a lot of down force so not sure if that would slow the car down. I'm sure it was design for use on the track not the drag strip.
I say put it on and let it rip. Take it off (its only a couple of screws) see if your time improves or slows you.
The reason I say its designed for track use is it comes with the handling package

I put mine on before my first track day and they are staying on. Not recommended for the street due to clearance (wickers) and mileage (flap and wickers). I don’t care since it’s not my daily driver.
