I was measuring my trunk to figure out how to fit a portable hanging file case and a milk crate so they don't slide from side to side and I could hear faint white noise from the sub. The car was off and obviously the trunk was open. I have tinnitus from years of loud engines, so I had my daughter confirm the noise.

Is the sub "on" all the time?

BTW, two of these look like they will fit perfectly in the trunk w/o sliding side to side if if slid all the way forward.

:shrug:I haven't heard any noise coming from the sub if the car is not on. I have a 2015 GT premium. My problem is I don't hear/feel enough from the sub when I have the stereo on.

When you first open the doors/trunk, the sub amp automatically turns on. It turns off after awhile (if the stereo is off) to keep from draining the battery when the engine is not running.

Wow I just noticed this on mine today. I was in the trunk doing some work on a new trunk light. It is super faint but in a quiet garage I could just barely hear it. I then popped my head in the car (my top was down) and noticed it is doing it on all the speakers.

I thought maybe it does this only when you open the doors, but it still was doing it after I shut the door and waited for the running lights to turn off. I then waited longer and confirmed what Art_Boy has said; it appears it DOES stop after a while (several minutes), so that should mean nothing is wrong and it isn't going to cause a dead battery like I feared (already had one once!) :)
