I am in the market to replace the oh so ugly stock shifter but would like to hear from everyone who has any personal experience with either the White Madness or Barton auto shifter replacement kit. The one downside I find towards the White Madness set up is there is not way to install your own custom shifter ball, you are bound to purchasing a replacement directly through White Madness. On the other hand, the Barton set up does have a threaded shaft so in theory you could have a custom ball machined to suit but again I am not sure.

Are there any other manufacturers who fabricate a auto shifter replacement kit? Or are these the only two options on the market?

Any advice you may have would be greatly appreciated!

WMGarage has three different options right now.
One with a mounted ball which can’t be switched and two options where you can change the ball to anything you want with the thread size M12x1.25

illjalop - thank you for the information! After a review it looks as if the universal shifter (threaded option) is taller than the non threaded option? Is this factual? I would prefer to have a shorter shifter versus a tall - your thoughts?

That's what we're for. Let us know when you get one installed.
Thank you Bikeman, I need all the help I can get at times :)

I have the Barton Ind. one and love it. Ordering straight from them gives you many more color options and also can have a Coyote logo instead of the PRNDS on the top cap. Very easy install too.

sabtaj1 - Man, that Barton looks good too! Is there an advance over the Barton vs WhiteMadness? Or is it personal preference?

I never seen the white madness one. Till today. But I love the Barton shifter, color options and cap options. Top notch quality.

It seems as if the Barton shifter has a larger thread pattern than the White Madness - this would force a person to fabricated a custom shifter knob if they supplied knob from Barton was not what they preferred.....

Barton thread pitch = 3/4 - 16

I purchased the WMG short version. Very easy install but you do have to trim 1” off the shaft which is not a big deal. I also swapped out the boo/trim to a manual version. Love the look and feels great.
