I have had the Whipple kit installed for a few weeks and have not noticed the heat exchanger fans coming on. I found the fuse to be a 10 and blown, installed a new 10 and it popped immediately. Installed a 15 and it popped as well, installed a 20 and the fans run with no problem. My question is the 20 to large of a fuse for the wire it protects? Did Whipple install the 10 by accident for the fans or do i have a larger problem? For those that have the fan upgrade what fuse do you have installed?

Had same issue - reverse the power and ground on the relay so they match the I/C pump - seems like some got mis wired from factory...

You will need a fine pointed pick to release the wires from the weatherproof harness

I would contact Whipple and found out what size fuse is suppose to be used, Then check your wiring and connections make sure there are no dead shorts. And using a fuse that is double the size that is suppose to be used can start a fire. The fuse blows to protect the wiring and equipment. If it can't blow it might melt the wires and damage the equipment ect......

instructions show removing a OEM 15amp fuse from #44 slot and then placing this 15amp in the whipple supplied fuse tap which already has a 5amp fuse on it...so one 15amp and one 5amp on this fuse tap going back in position #44

the fans and the intercooler pump run off this

The fuse that keeps popping is inside of the remote mounted fused connection before the relay for the Spal fans. The 15 and 5 you are referencing are located inside the fuse box and are not causing any problems.

Mine also came with a 10 and kept blowing so I changed a 20 and its fine. Later talked to Whipple and they said change to a 25. I haven't changed it yet. No issues with the 20.

Interested to hear what Whipple tells you?

Spoke with whipple today, the harness was 3rd party supplied with the wrong sized fuse. They advised to install a 25amp fuse to resolve the issue.

This is correct, production is shipped with 25amp fuses for the dual Spal fans, but some got out with 10amp fuses. If anyone needs a 25A fuse, please let me know.

That's the add-a-fuse, there is no problem with this. This is only for the dual fan setup which has it's own fuse, suppose to be 25A, but some got out with a 10A. We have rectified all in stock but some got out with the 10A. The IC pump still runs without an issue.

So I am confused, Whipple says the 25 amp fuse is correct. For those that have found wiring issues what fuse are you now using? When does your fans come on and shut off?

We are running the 25amp fuses from Whipple and never had a fuse blow on us yet.
