Whipple Powder Coating

I've got a whipple on the way and I want to do some powder coating to it when it gets here. My question is if it is safe to powder coat it which requires temps around 400 degrees f? I'm assuming the kit comes with the unit fully assembled but is there any internals that would be damaged such as gaskets, or rubber seals inside?

Or is it possible to tear down some of the parts to powder coat and then re assemble?

Thanks for any info, just trying to plan for when it arrives.

I already have all the equipment to powder coat so figured I would do my own custom finish.

.. try to call Whipple. i seem to remember someone getting a whipple with a custom DIB color powder coat .. you might be able to get one in Kona....

I ordered my whipple with the powder coated option for race red. Granted it's an extra $600 but I'm so glad I did it. Looks gorgeous

your best bet would be to get it coated by whipple.

we have a red one that we'll be doing here soon on an f150 project, black truck with red accents, will look very sweet

This can not be powder coated assembled. I looked to to it and it's a no go. It would need to be disassembled by Whipple then powder coated and re assembled and would prove to be not cost effective. I was told it would be better to sell my old system (taking off anyway for new car) and buy a new one painted.

On the flip side you can without a doubt have the blower painted at a paint shop as opposed to powder coating

Thanks for the info [MENTION=8761]Jmeo[/MENTION] . I have some Kona blue so I think I will just paint it. I figured there were probably some internals that wouldn't like the high temp.

Shouldve gotten it through whipple. They let you choose your custom color. Prismatic Powder.

They did not have my Ford Comp orange so i had to choose the closest color.
