Okay, so I'm getting ready to start my build and ashamed to say I have some new/unanticipated questions about the whipple kit.

1) I bought a competition tuner kit (for the GT350) (WK-2621T-G5 if that helps) and opted for the dual fans.

Looking at the photos, am I correct to assume the heat exchanger that comes with this kit is NOT as large as the oversized heat exchanger?

2) From what I could read/learn, the oversized heat exchanger does not allow the use of fans, is that correct?

3) It would seem that fans help with dead stop cooling (for stoplights and IAT's) but are useless at all but parking lot speeds and actually more restrictive at higher speeds (as well as noisy, draw on the electrical system, etc). So I guess the classic debate is whether it's better to have the reserve of a larger exchanger volume (and better flow at high speed) or have the benefit of keeping IAT's down while sitting in traffic.

Lastly, can someone confirm that the oversized heat exchanger does NOT interfere with the sway bar?

1. Definitely not as large. The oversized is a dual pass.
2. Cannot use fans.
3. You already have a clear understanding of this. And it does not interfere with the sway bar. It’s more forward of everything so not even close.

I would prefer to opt for the larger (double pass) intercooler. Fans are not needed unless you will be stationary for a bit like in a staging lane. Larger H/E does not interfere with crash bar/swaybar.

I have the oversized HE. All the above comments are correct.

Funny, I actually opted for the opposite and was questioning my decision. I kind of thought I should have went for the dual fan kit. I feel that the fans would keep the temps consistent no matter what you are doing. Sure, the larger HX cools better at speed. But I don't really think the whipple has cooling problems to begin with. Especially where I am with milder temps. I haven't received my kit yet, so I have no firsthand experience. Just speculation.

PM me. I'll trade you the fans for the oversized HE. I'll throw on the cash for the retail difference.
