If the bridge from rpm to horsepower, torque, was constant that would mean that we could make horsepower go to infinity... IF torque was constant. However, that is not the case.

Just run it to 8g and hit 900.

Remember horsepower equals torque times rpm divided by 5252. Then only way to increase power is to increase torque or rev it higher. I always call bs when people say I make 900 whp when they rev it out to near 8 grand just to claim I have 800 whp but in reality they make slightly more than 600lb feet of torque.

The complete kit comes with the Whipple cal. We tested their Gen 2 kit on our car before their cal came out and made 819rwhp with the 3.625” pulley on E85. Lund Racing tuned. I believe it made just under 12psi.

Expect different results from pump gas though.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!
So may be 10 psi with the 3.75 pulley on a gen 3 ?
Mid 700's at the tire on 93 ?
That would still be plenty and "safe" I expect and plenty fun ....for a while .

:frusty: keep up

let me know what that time turns into on PUMP GAS 93
Pump gas for the birds. And winter storage.

Go take a look on the whipple/tvs bookface group. A guy posted this yesterday...

( I'm quoting him)

"Just as a footnote......the gen 3 made 60hp more over the same combo with 1/2" less pulley at the same boost. We have another car that went 9.30@150 with a 3.25 and 20% lower makes 17lbs, this car makes the same boost with a gen 3 and a 3.75 upper."

It's funny back in 2003 I was making around 625-650whp on my 1997 Cobra with a Novi 2000. This car was running huge injectors, dual fuel pumps, and 18psi if I remember correctly.

I was told then that I was at the absolute limit of what 93 (might even have been 94 back then) could handle.

Point is technology is a mofo!

Crazy how things have progressed since then. Now we can get more power on pump, huge gains on E85 and higher compression are now the norm.

So how do you make the same boost with half inch less pulley? Dont quite get what you are saying here.

All things being equal half inch less pulley on setup B should obviously make more boost than setup A.

so is it 60 more hp with same boost?

or is it

60 more hp with 1/2" less pulley.

Any time you start dropping half an inch off a pulley size it damn well best make more hp AND boost.

Half an inch is a pretty big difference.

It's restriction but cold/heat plays a huge role in air charge & density. What he's saying & what is also becoming the actual norm is the gen3 vs gen2 is worth about 30-35rwhp per lb all being equal. If you made x amount power with x pulley with the gen2 then switch to gen3 you are making a 30-35 more while losing restriction. You can then pulley down to the original boost to make 60-70 more rwhp. This is the what I've seen from real world Joe blow setups which is still bad ass!

right but thats not what was said.

One setup was 20% lower plus 3.25 pulley

one setup was 3.75 pulley

Obviously 20% OD plus 3.25 pulley is spinning the blower way harder than a 3.75 pulley and stock dampner.
