looking to purchase a Steeda x pipe but see they have 2 different models. One that’s 18+ specific and says it’s for models with a specific type of heat shield. Does anyone have a picture of this heat shield? I want to look under my car tomorrow and know which one I’m looking for.

I’d love to save a few bucks on the cheaper one but want to make sure the part is right instead.

Don't have a picture. Just have a look, you can't miss them. They're right where you would cut the stock pipe. They're very easy to remove though once you've cut the pipe, if $10 is that important just buy the cheaper one and pry/cut them off yourself (if you even have them on your car)

They're held on by like a 1/4" band, all you need to do is pry it and slide it off after you've made your cut

Thanks for the reply. I wasn’t sure where to look exactly lol. I kinda read the page for the special one as being a different length or somehow not compatible if I don’t need that one.

The more expensive one is a shorter length, so you make your cut before the heat shield (closer to the cats).

I didn't have that option with my Corsa xpipe that I kept from my 16, and wasn't expecting to see a heat shield there. So I just made my cut where I needed to, which was pretty much right through the middle of the heat shield. That does mean you need to cut through the heat shield and then through the exhaust pipe, which is kinda annoying but in the end made the job 10% more difficult so it's not a big deal. The heat shield only covers the top half of the pipe naturally, it's maybe 8" long from memory.

Of course this doesn't matter if you don't have the heat shield.
