Go with the "19.....460 HP, dual injection, 12-1 compression ratio, and updated styling. Also the suspension was changed in 2018+ cars. The base seats are much easier to live with everyday and do provide great support. The premium seats are even better with heating and cooling.

For everyone saying ‘19....why if the gear ratios aren’t as good as the ‘16.

Is the engine noticeable better in the 18+?

What do you guys think is the better resale in 2 years?

19 because it’s 3 years newer has a lot less miles and therefore more warranty left. Also the 16 has already been modified so you never know what else they might have done to it. Oh and even though the 16 has wider tires the factory Michelin on the 19 PP should be better.

They are talking about the gear ratios in the transmission. Wider ratio in the 18+ than the 15'-17' Wouldn't keep me from choosing the 19'

Yes, the Gen 3 engine is better. 460 vs. 435 hp.

The 19' will have better resale value down the road.

Max, honestly, no brainer if the $$$ work for you. The 19' is a superior car to the 16'.

Ps. you will love the active exhaust.

Wow. I thought it would be much closer given the ‘16 has recaros, aftermarket catback and American racing wheels with new tires.

seems like most enthusiasts upgrade their mustangs w/ wheels and tires to get a better performance and stance.

I wouldn't buy the 16. I think you should get the 19 and save up for your own mods. That way it'll be your own car. The aftermarket mods on the 16 definitely reduce the market value. The active exhaust is a great feature and you can still modify your exhaust if you so choose and keep the active capabilities.

19 all day.. Newer, lower miles, remaining warranty, active exhaust, 460HP.... Better resale value when its time to move on to the next one.

For me it would mostly depend on the price difference. What's the price of the 19? I don't think the price of that 16 seems all that great. Does either car have premium seats, 8 inch screens, etc. or are they base models with performance packs? Do you like the aftermarket wheels? If the price of the 16 was $22k or $23k instead of $26k it might be the better deal. I have a 19 but actually prefer the 15-17 styling.

Definitely the 19. the 18+ are everything the 15-17 are but a little better at everything.

Couple questions.....What is the price of the 19? What type of racing will you be doing if any?

My opinion is that the gear ratios mean less if you are just going to daily drive it and it will live on the street. If you will be drag racing, the 16 would be better (at least in theory). If road racing on a track, either car will be loads of fun. I have only driven my Mustang on a track so I cannot say how the 16 would do, but I am sure you won't be let down. If you are looking for ultimate straight line speed, get a 18+ auto as it will just be faster and you don't need to be a great driver to make it go fast. Also as others have said, the better value for resale will be the 19 although that may not be the case depending on what the price is.
