So your saying that 87 is not really worth it putting in EB. Ok I get that but the question is, in the long run would you gain more mpg in 91 with no ethanol or 93/94 with up to 10% ethanol? Any mechanical advantages or disadvantages when putting one or the other?
Im not sure about the ethanol, but in terms of the engine, the EB was designed to run on 87, just as the V6 and V8 were. They are tested with 87 with the EPA MPG tests.

So those MPG #s you see on the sticker are done with 87 octane.

The 93 octane gives the EB the performance boost to pull the 310 hp. As far as I know, there is no real MPG gain running higher octane, and if there is, it's probably negligible. Otherwise Ford would test with that to get it's MPG #s up.

Now the EB can't pull its 310 HP without the 93 octane. At that point, get a V6 at least that's what I would do.

When you run the #s and other things, the EB is just not that amazing. I think if it was more in the 350-360 HP range, you'd have something here.

although its more realistic to reach those potential hp outputs on the EB over the v6 also the differences in torque of the EB vs. v6 are something you didnt mention.

I've had a salesman tell me the EB gets 44mpg which I think is way over the top, but
here we use Litres which is a pita to convert to mpg, we also use the larger Imperial gallons
measure vs the smaller US gallon measure, so for eg the V6 by one owner on the forum is
delivering consistently 26+ mpg for 30/70% city/hwy driving, which in Imperial is 31+ mpg.

I want a convertible and in Canadian $s there's a $9K difference in price between the V6 with
the 3.55 axle and EB. aside from how the 2 cars are equipped - leather in the EB and 18"
tires/wheels vs cloth seats and 17", the major difference is the EB has the Drive Modes.

without the turbo the V6 doesn't generate the low end torque, a tune ?
EB 1/4 in 13.9s at 100 mph, 0-60 in 5.2s. manual, 3.31 axle.
V6 /1/4 in 14.4s at 99mph, 0-60 in 5.8s. manual 3.15 axle, can't find times for the 3.55 axle.

one other thing —
Top gear: 30-50 mph: EB 3.1s vs GT 9.6s. Top gear: 50-70 mph: EB 3.9s vs GT 9.0s.

believe the EB manual has the 3.31 axle standard, the automatic a 3.15 axle.

haven't found any performance data for the 3.55 axle, often stated that there's a small reduction
in top speed and mpg.
would 18" tires/wheels improve the V6 performance ?

aftermarket leather the for V6: C$1,200 - C$1,500 , one quote included heated seats for C$1,400 .

personally, I can't see buying the EB and not using premium fuel.
using 87 octane defeats the extra money spent on the car to have the turbo performance.

what is everyone's thoughts on E10 fuel for the EB? i understand that its a big no if the fuel is stored long periods of time in the tank. Currently i am just sticking to pure 91 octane and i would like to see everyone's opinion on e10 fuel.

It should be written on the fuel filler neck what the maximum ethanol rating you can use is. If not it should be in the manual. If Ford says it's ok to put E10 or E15 in then there is no problem.

$1400 for leather? Does that include heating too?
