Just curious...

A) Stock-style (with aftermarket mufflers)
B) Y-Pipe
C) Mid-Pipe Muffler (light, keeps twin exhaust tips)
D) Single exhaust (lightest)

Is there anybody that we know of making mid muffler or single exhaust setup?

how much ?

How much weight would be saved with layout c or layout d compared to stock.
Would it save 30lbs or maybe even more?
Also is there any reason (other than looks) to keep the dual exhaust on an ecoboost, does the dual add any power or enhance the exhaust note?

Thanks, everyone, for participating in the poll.

Not that I know of. Just brainstorming at this point.

Thin wall SS or Ti of a reasonable diameter would save considerable amount of weight. Dual is for looks and important for many.

C has been in my plans since day one. 3" downpipe and change cat to a resonator and it is my ideal setup.

It does enhance the exhaust note. Typically making a growl instead of fart can noise.

EDIT: as seen on other vehicles. I don't know for the mustang...yet.

B and C hybrid. Ran something similar on my 5.0 turbo, and it was quieter than stock, but improved response and made more power than stock due to straight through design of aftermarket mufflers.
