Pardon my ignorance here but how do you strip a bolt in an automatic that you just push a button and pull back? Just asking because I have one too.

Changing out the shifter there are those two little screws that disconnect it.

Pardon my ignorance here but how do you strip a bolt in an automatic that you just push a button and pull back? Just asking because I have one too.

Those screws only have about 1/16" of thread engagement in the shift rod they go into so it's not difficult to strip the threads but IMO the screws are harder than the threads in the hollow rod that they thread into so it's more likely that the threads in the hollow rod will strip before the threads on the screws will if over tightened.

Sorry but it appears Ford does not sell these alone. They are included with the shift knob though.
