What's the point of gaining the OEM remote start option after switching to automatic?

The ECU will be flashed with IDS and the other modules Forscan. Lund will handle shift points like they do on all their auto tunes.

What exactly is silly?
I think the question was more along the lines of inquiring the point of gutting a car to swap transmissions instead of selling the stick and buying an auto...

It's easier and cheaper than trading in the car. I like my time and my money..

New transmission
New PCM
New Steering Wheel
New Shifter
New Pedal Set
Clutch & Sensor Removal
Remote Start Module that might not work...

Maybe a few more modules I'm not considering here...

how much do you think a used '15 with an auto is going to run and what is the dollar value of your time?

Maybe he already has a ton of work and money into the car. There are too many reasons why it might be an easier/cheaper option for him to swap.

I know a few guys here in Houston that have successfully swapped their manual cars to auto.

What honestly is the point of doing this?
How are you going to re-program the ECU to not have shift points? Or work with engine?

This is silly.
Its not silly even in the least bit. Cheaper/the same as going T6060 and any one going for high HP applications must get rid of the MT82 at some point. Auto's hold significantly more than the MT82 and for drag racers you gain efficiency in shifting and faster times. There are numerous guys on here doing it.... What is silly about that?

This.

The amount of time to remove all the aftermarket parts and return to stock isn't worth it. Not to mention I already sold my Tremec Magnum XL to fund the swap.

Still valid, will take less time and less money to do the swap on my car versus return my car to stock, sell my car, buy another car and swap all parts back in.
I always just keep aftermarket parts married to the vehicle they are put onto. Between trying to store old parts, and doing R&R, it saves a lot of time (and time is money, too) to just throw away the OE and buy new parts when I switch vehicles.

Nobody said anything about specific goal of better 1/4 mile times. If this is a money pit project car, then do what you want.

BUT, selling your car outright and buying a used auto is probably cheaper.

Still don't see the point. Not logical, specially with A10 coming.

Oh, so now you recommend I leave the roughly 20k in mods on the car, sell it, buy a different car, re-buy all the mods and install them onto the new automatic car?

Can you please be my financial advisor?

What makes the A10 so superior to a 6r80?

Come on..the A10 will destroy all!! DESTROYYYYYYYYYYY!

That thing better live up to the hype. It's been nothing but A10 hype here for minths. People getting automotive bones for a couple more gears like it's gonna revolutionize the industry.

When you leave information of that much significance out of the early part of the discussion, don't be surprised when the replies treat your mods like they were only simple entry-level bolt-ons - cold air, lowering springs, etc. Things that can easily be reversed or parted with without much regret.

Don't fault the rest of us for what we didn't know . . . and for what we probably still don't know. Which starts with your reason for wanting to do this swap in the first place.

The A10 will need to have overall gear spacing better suited to the engine and the car's usage. Not just more gears or a super-low granny-gear or ridiculously tall OD gears that you'd have to drop down 4 gears from before getting decent response.
