I think you are trying to overthink this too far out.... The UK order process isn't (yet) fully tied in with the US manufacturing schedules.

You can only go on the price list, and the 29th Feb price lists states "for vehicles manufactured from June 2016", so those are all "MY17" with Sync 3 and the latest colour choices.

I presume that any recent UK orders that didn't make the manufacturing cutoff of the end of May will end up as MY2017 cars with Sync 3.

The US can't order a MY17 model yet; I think 1st April is when that opens. If you definitely want a MY18 car, I can only suggest you talk to your dealer and see if they can help... order too soon and it will be MY17; order too late and it won't be an early MY18 - but only you can decide if the wait is worth it. After all, the MY20 looks like it will be big improvement..... (cough, cough)

And the chrome mirrors on that Minor really make it look smart with the other shiny bits, don't they? Put's the custom pack chrome strips to shame!

Ford are very secretive about any future products, so absolutely nothing is or will be confirmed......at least not until a few weeks, maybe months before production begins.

However, there are a few good people on this site with good information. You can expect a light refresh front n rear, probably with revised lights and bumpers, etc. The 5.0 at least is expected to get a bump in power (maybe 450-460hp in the US) and the option of the new 10-speed auto. The interior may get a slight tweak, but I suspect that would be limited to new/upgraded trim.

We should start to see camo'd prototypes by Summer.....this is an near to "confirmation" as we'll get, at least until order guides are released in the US.....and sometimes that sort of stuff gets leaked early, which is how we knew for sure the GT350 was coming :)

Gotta say if the 10-speed auto happens I will trade in, unless they ruin the looks with bodykit revisions.

For me I'd love MY18 to have following realistic add-ons/upgrades:

- 455-460HP so about 440BHP for UK/EU with similar torque
- 10-speed AUTO
- Sync 3 (confirmed)
- Front & Rear parking sensors
- Shelby or similar leather/suede wheel as standard
- Recaro option for RHD cars
- FRPP Handling kit as standard on PP or even option for magnetic setup
- Michelin tyres instead of Pzero junk!

That is probably the best we can realistically hope for.

If I was dreaming then I'd want the above plus:

- 2-piece brake disc all round to save a good 15-20kg
- More wheel options with Michelin MPSS rubber
- 4-pot brembo calipers on the rear
- Quad exhaust with switchable sound levels

Can't see that happening, massive extra cost in parts and brings the GT PP practially up with GT 350 performance.

Exactly. There is no specific model year schedule for the export markets, cars are built according to allocation slots per country throughout the year and allocations are filled in order of orders being placed in that specific country. What model year the car ends up being is only determined by the eventual build date and nothing else. So any current order that is not built before June 2nd 2016 will be a model year 2017 and have Sync3. The cutoff for model year 2018 will be equally positioned somewhere early June 2017.

The whole allocation slots model also means that in one country you have a turnaround time of a new order of about 4-5 months (like here in the Netherlands) and in others it's creaping up to almost 2 years, like in Australia. Putting this all together and knowing the turnaround time of a new order in the UK being 1 year then it makes sense to place an order around June this year to secure an early MY 2018 production slot. Do however make sure you make clear contractual arrangements about the model year because turnaround time will not be 1 year forever and might start to get shorter already this year. So you need to have the contract stipulate the earliest build date and model year so you can prevent ending up with the last pre-facelift car ever built.
