Dude, I’m dealing with probably the worst adhesive I’ve ever seen from wheel weights. Supposed to go get tires put on today. Trying to get the weights off so the tire shop doesn’t do it. But I cannot get this adhesive off. It’s bad. Been soaking in WD-40 and goo gone. Shit won’t budge.

Any bright ideas?

I don’t want to take them to the shop and they need to put a weight in the same spot over tbis old adhesive soaking in gunk either.

Eraser wheel on a drill. Get one from whatever big box store, or local small hardware store that has them.

Heat it up with a blow dryer and use some plastic razor blades

Rubbing alcohol has always been my go too. When that doesn’t work I resort to carb cleaner but be careful with it. It will hurt some finishes.

Hello there, I just wanted to hop in here and offer up a suggestion about the removal of the wheel weight adhesive you are dealing with. There are many ways to do so, and many of them have been addressed. Along with WD-40, an Eraser Wheel, and a Wax and Grease remover, there are claims of using "Toothpaste, Peanut Butter, Mineral Oil, and Vinegar. You can also use things like "Oil Flo, 3M Adhesive Remover, a Heat Gun, and Goo Gone. For Powder Coated Wheels, there have been reports of using a bit of Brake Cleaner on a rag to remove the adhesive from wheel weights, they say this works. There is even something out there called "Chizzler", which is for the removal of adhesive from sensitive surfaces. One thing that I can advise is, whatever it is that you decide to use, work in a small area first, being careful and going slowly.

I hope this helps. Take Care and if you have any questions, please feel free to drop us a line.
