Hey everyone,

Decided that for this season that my rims need to be re-powder coated. Currently they are a Dark Grey Satin and I think that clashes with the gloss finish of the body. I have included a current photo of the wheels on the car if you guys think they look best. Looking for some ideas or votes to see what I should do. Keep in mind the photo of my car with the wheels on will look darker than they really are. It all depends on the light. I have changed out the badging to black on the car and have a black spoiler as noted in the photos but I can always switch the emblems back.

Included some other photo of rims with color options. Not these wheel type specifically. Keeping the same wheels but trying to choose a new color.

Something to note, been thinking about adding potential matte black or gloss black stripes and painting the calipers a blue color. Likely a darker candy blue.

I voted gloss graphite. I just picked up a set gun metal MRR M600s for my Magnetic. I don't know if they're going to be bright enough to stand out. I would go as bright as possible, but that's just me.

IMO with a body colour as dark as magnetic, you need that contrast for the wheels. I've gone with black gloss, although subtle, does give a nice contrast in the right light.

To echo the OP's comment, dark grey rims can clash a little when you're not looking at the car in bright lights. Black rims will complement your spoiler, black badges and window tints too. Also would suit stripes well - gloss or matte.

Other option would be a light silver but that's a very different look, and I'm going to guess that's not your style!

Thanks for the help and votes everyone. Sorry for the delay, busy day at work.
I’m surprised black chrome is winning. It looks cool but I have no idea how it’s going to look on the car.

I would consider a lighter color and I would just need to swap out the badges and maybe have the spoiler changed to body color.

Kristian opinions?

Hard to say...we're dealing with many options lol

If you ask nicely in the photoshop request thread (https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/all-photoshop-requests-thread.8837/page-240), I'm sure someone skilled can give an an idea of what both gloss black and a standard lighter silver would look like. You may need to get some better side profile shots for that though - as per the pic in my signature.

I'm a man of simple tastes, so if you were going for a lighter coloured wheel, I'd say go with the standard silver paint - I know the factory Ford silver wheels are quite a light shade, but again - you'll get that strong contrast. I'd say leave the spoiler gloss black - you already have the gloss black highlights on the headlights, front grille etc, and the dark window tints. I'd say go with the chrome badges however.

So I've considered bronze but that is the only color my wife is absolutely against. I may end up going gloss black, need to decide in the next two weeks here so I can have them ready before I swap rims back over.

Thanks for all the advice everyone, leaning gloss black at the moment.

I voted black chrome because it's different than all the black out there and it would pop against Magnetic.

Or do what I did, brushed with tinted clear.

Sorry to hear that because to me this really pops.

So many things can be said about this. How about we leave at "you're a good husband". :giggle::whew:
Being married is always about compromises. I got to make my Mustang the only car our family has, so I think I can sacrifice a tiny little bit for her.

but no question that bronze looks beautiful.
