So there are plenty of threads on washing wheels, but no real mention I found regarding upkeep between washes. Living in AZ, I get treated to the local dust plus brake dust. I use the brake dust replant spray which the jury is still out on its performance or my abilities to properly apply. So I find myself looking and filthy wheels some 2 days after a wash. I've tried a microfiber mitt and it seems to get some dust off but also spreads the remaining dust around leaving a sloppy result.

So let's hear from you guys that are fighting the good fight and keeping these things clean between washes.

Cheers!

Probably not the answer you want to hear, but I just live with it until the next time I wash my car. I've tried brake dust repellent (e.g. Armor All Outlast) on my other cars and I just don't like it. The GT350's wheels are black, so the brake dust doesn't bother me that much.

What frustrates me more than the brake dust is seeing the dust that quickly forms on the black plastic panel between the tail lights. I dare not wipe that down, since the plastic can pick up micro scratches easily. So I just end up washing the entire car more frequently than I normally would because of the dust build up on the rear black panel.

I switched to ceramic brake pads. I was tired of my gloss black PP rims looking like they're a matte gunmetal after ten miles.

Had new a 16 GT350 and 17 GT350
I use a California Duster (not endorsing product) on my wheels and it gets most of the brake dust off. I also use it on that black plastic panel between the taillights and basically the whole car. My car being a 2016 blue with black stripes you still see fine scratches in the paint and stripes where the sun is hitting directly on the car. I've always hand washed car with a wash and wax. And still being a darker paint and stripes in direct sun light you see fine scratches every where in paint and stripes. Hate it! Had a silver birch colored pickup from new for 9 years and washed same way and never saw fine scratches. Obviously they were there but being an earth tone color they didn't show even in direct sun light.

What brand ceramic pads did you go with. I'm in the market. Any specific details you could provide would be appreciated.

I just wash wheels only between washing the entire car. Takes about 15 min.

This . I use Warm soapy water and micro towel. Be careful wiping with dry towel , real easy to scratch the painted surfaces.

This is your best bet.

Chemical guys jet seal and diablo wheel cleaner has reduced my brake dust build up significantly

Also you can have a ceramic coating applied such as modesta, ceramic pro, etc...

I went with the Power Stop Z23 compound, after hearing that it was quieter and released much less dust than the PP compound. I'm happy with them, overall, though they do squeal until they get warmed up (fronts). I might pull them and apply extra anti-squeal compound to the backing plates, but I'm not sure that will make a difference. Initial bite is nowhere near as strong as the PP pads, but they stop just as well. I'd say I have an extra 2" of pedal travel, which is actually nice, because the stock PP pads bit IMMEDIATELY, and there was no pedal travel. Heel/toe shifting was nigh on impossible with the PP pads, because you could never get the brake pedal into a good position, relative to the accelerator. Now, they're near even.

Given that the Brembos are so easy to change pads on, I'm happy with these as a daily driver. If I decided to track the car, I'd probably throw a set of G-loc pads on, just for the event, and only in the front.
