I owned a ’97 Corvette for more than 20 years, but eventually realized I was approaching the age when I’d be expected to adopt the official Corvette uniform. The shorts, socks and New Balances just weren’t me, so I bought a GT350 instead.
Besides, Mustangs are where I started. I learned to...
If you think the Ram depreciates, use that to your advantage. Find a used 2014 - 2018 Ram 2500 diesel. Can't beat proven Cummins reliability and at 50K miles, the engine is just getting broken in.
Idaho requires a front plate. A few years ago, a ground roots movement developed to eliminate that requirement. It was opposed by testimony from local law enforcement. The resulting drama was reported in the local news. State legislation was introduced to make a change, but was narrowly...
I've had two Newfoundlands over the years. They sat on the seat of my '97 Corvette with their front paws on the floor. They could still see out the windshield.
Very interesting if legit.
I've followed the InsideEV youTube channel for a bit. Other than their obvious EV advocacy, they seem to take their journalism seriously. They posted this video a few months ago:
We Tried BYD’s 5-Minute ‘Megawatt’ EV Charging In China — It’s Mind-Blowing
Man, I'm feeling kind of left out. In nearly 6 years of ownership and 21K miles, I've never had anyone want to race me. (Not that I would).
I did have one guy in a big Boise City utility truck very obviously dive across two traffic lanes to get behind me in a turn lane. After getting around...
The TR-3160 transmission on my '19 GT350 was smooth as butter till at about 15K miles when 5th gear started grinding when engaged. 5th gear synchro was failing. See post. Dealership replaced 5th and 6th synchro's, gears and related parts under warranty. Been working fine since then.
I have need to travel between Boise and Seattle frequently. If I have a few extra minutes, I like to drive the Yakima River Canyon Road (aka Washington 821) between Yakima and Ellensburg.
A touch slower, but much more entertaining than the parallel I-82.
I bought the Flood Ford "8-year" (effectively 5-year) ESP Bumper-to-Bumper zero-deductible coverage when my '19 GT350 3-year factory bumper-to-bumper warranty expired. I don't normally buy warranties, but staring down the barrel at a $30K+ bill for an engine replacement on a car that I track...
At our SCCA Snake River Region, we have a guy who Autocrosses quite seriously. He builds his daily drivers up a bit to be competitive and generally finishes near the top of his Class. When I first met him, he was running a lightly-modified 5th-Gen Mustang V8. One year (2018? IIRC), he switched...
