John Wick's 69 Mach I.....non functional hood and side scoops.
I wouldn't turn this down because scoops are non functional. One of my favorite years.

YUP.
Also many have rear spoilers and the oem front spliter that at legal speeds (US of A ) doesn't do much of anything.
So, MEH, If ya like the look of a side scoop or something on the hood.
Go for it.
This hobby is crazy sometimes. They will tool on an import car with a rear wing, because it doesn't need it so it looks stupid. Then turn around and own a Ford with a "wing" and the car never see track time, so it doesn't need it but because it is on their type ride it is ok.
Or because Ford put it there.
My thinking is to each their own.
The "don't do as I do, do as I say" . kinda needs to die
Build/mod what ya like. Only you need to like it.

On the way home last night I stopped next to an Oxford white EcoBoost. 2.3T emblem, side window louvers, huge spoiler, etc etc etc.. and side scoops. Black primer. They looked absolutely horrible. Tacky, cheesy nonsense that ruined a good looking car. Although to be honest he ruined it with all the other shit too.

Not to beat at dead horse here (lol) but I think we can all conclude to each his own. My personal preference is that "less is more" I went so far as to remove the "swing" raised decklid spoiler from my GT350. It just looked way to large and aggressive to me, even though I do track my car. I went through a lot of work to redo the stripes and install the original 2015-18 track pack spoiler which is as far as I will go.

The scoops and spoiler were the first mods when I got my 2015. I’d looked carefully and found I liked the Cervinis Side scoops better than the Roush as they were bigger and well everyone who wanted side scoops was putting the Roush ones on. I also felt they go with the aviation theme I’m doing but in the end I just really liked them and it makes the car stand out a bit. Idk if you put scoops on yours but you should do what you want, for your own reasons. That’s what this hobby is all about.

I don’t hate the look but they would also slow the car down, I guess it’s good if you are looking to brake in a hurry.

I think with the classic spoke wheels and color this works...
If you are looking for the best aero which usually means drag strip or track then I wouldn't recommend. If it's just a daily or show car then this is fine...

I put the Ford accessories hood and side scoops on my car because I like the look of the older models with the scoops on, despite being nonfunctional. They do have double sided tape on them but are also secured with polyurethane adhesive.

It's no different than putting ANY spoiler on a car if you don't track it, it's a purely cosmetic piece.
And that's OK.
And the argument of "it will cause drag" is also kinda silly, doubly so if you, once again, have a spoiler and don't ever race the car.
If you don't like the look, that's valid no matter how you use your car, but to poo poo on scoops when you are running a spoiler is kinda hypocritical. Scoops and spoilers are in the same category, cosmetic pieces that we put on because we like the look.
Neither do anything when we are puttering around town except cause us to lose a mile or two per gallon.

If you like the look, do it.
