It's a legal requirement. Any car that has the option of turning off traction / stability controls, or lowering their limits (like in a track mode), HAS to automatically reset to "fully on" whenever the engine is restarted, under U.S. law.I mean it's not a huge complaint, but it's certainly a minor annoyance, but I figure as racer said below, it's probably a safety thing. They want to make sure you're consciously aware of choosing Track Mode every time.
Be thankful that's all it is; the E.U. is considering entirely outlawing the practice of allowing traction / stability control to be disabled.
