ive actually found my car does better with some wheel spin. when it hooks, it bogs, and it hurts the time worse than spinning a little. I don't mean smoking the tires, more like it spins a little at first then kinda hazes the tires till about 5k. 20" rims arnt helping at all though. my best launch rpm is 3200. the timer starts as soon as it detects wheel movement. also, if your tires are taller than stock, your times will actually be worse than reality...unless your speedometer as been changed to match your new tire diameter
ignore my comment, Fordguys550 is dead on the money, i forgot you can rev with brake held for a higher rpm launch. Great advice man.

I have a question though. Does the track app know if you get wheel spin before it grips or does it think your car is going 0-60 faster because of the wheel spin before getting traction?
If you can get the tire spin to 60mph then yes, it will interfere with the time you get. However i dont think you can spin the tire to 60mph lol

Actually v6 has the tallest tire of all the stock wheels (17inch). I don't know if the speedo has been caliberated for each set of wheels (i doubt they would). If speedos are same for all of us, we should be faster than other models by 1.7% roughly

im sure each model is calibrated to the tire size it comes with.

1st ever 0-60 run w/ track apps. I got 6.5 seconds with 3 people in the car, taking it to about 6k rpm. I'll get better over time and once I'm done breaking it in.

What I really wanna know is how everyone's 0-60 times are when it's hot outside compared to when it's cold.

Temperature makes a big difference.... My summer 0-60 are usually in the mid 5s.... 5.4-5.5. But in the winter i was able to achieve 4.9. It seems after ambient temp drops below 50 is when the engine really likes it.

Just tried mine again after exhaust and x pipe install. I also have 20 in rims. I got 7.4 78 degree weather half tank of gas. And later realized I had a stroller in the trunk :frusty:
Is it really humid where you are? That sounds like a relatively slow 0-60. Did you break it in already? Is it a manual? Is the stroller really really heavy?

I got a 7.1
Thats after the MPT Tune, BBK Shorty, Roush Exhaust, and Roush CAI.

How much speed do I lose having 20 inch wheels and how much does weight affect my acceleration? Like if I have 200 extra pounds in the trunk.

I have launch control as well, anything above 3000rpm and I'm spinning hard. I'm sure you could do 4500-5000 on slicks at drag strip.
