So after I had the lowering strings installed, my Craftsmen 2 ton floor jack wont fit under my GT. I know there are low profile jacks out there. what types are you guys using with lowered Mustangs and where did you get them?

what steps are you using to place your GT on jack stands?

thanks

I've got some low profile jacks from Harbor freight. Cheap but they work until my tool budget gets bigger.

My Corvette wouldn't even fit on a low-profile jack. I always had to drive it up onto some 2x4s or mini-ramps to get the jack under. Might want to pursue this cheaper alternative.

Not mine, but you get the idea.

Jacking up my previous lowered car was always a two jack affair. One being a low profile and the other being a normal floor jack. My low profile jack only required a 4" clearance and is a cheap Wal-Mart Blackjack.

I went with a pair of these off ebay for 40 bucks... lifts the car 3 inches. I should be able to get my jack under the car then.... hopefully....

I have a Craftsman 3 ton jack. I drove up onto some scrap 2''x8'' pieces at each front wheel and then was able to slide my Craftsman jack underneath, chock the wheels, place jackstands, and change my oil.

I used the 3 ton low profile jack from Harbor Freight, cost about $75 on sale with coupon. I added the 2 ton cross beam to use with it, it allows you to lift via two points on the car instead of just one, cost $30 on sale with coupon when I bought it. It really couldn't have been easier.
I also used the Harbor Freight 6 ton jack stands. 3 ton are more than sufficient, but I liked the wider base on the 6 ton for stability.

As a side note, I know that Harbor Freight has a generally pretty poor/cheap reputation with some of their stuff, but I couldn't have been happier or more impressed with the stuff I've gotten from them. Every bit as good.

My Craftsman jack is from China too. Probably the same maker. I think the 3 ton is just right. It certainly is needed for my F150!

My racing Jack is about 10 years old. Zero issues. No complaints.

craftsman jack to low for mine too after lowering.

I have a really small baby jack, i forget the name to get the car high enough about 1-2 inches, then jack it up the rest of the way with the craftsman...better than buying a whole new jack.
