After driving the new M3, I completely gave up on new BMW's. But I just heard a new M2 competition blasting around my hood, and it sounded very very mean... hmm. Must go drive one.
IMO the best BMW was M3 E92. GT350 remind me of E92. I drove 2020 M2 comp, it's good but not as good as GT350. GT350 is a lot better around the corners. Driver/Car/Road connection is a lot better in GT350 than in M2. Big part of it is V8 vs. I6 even with twin-turbo. This is MOO.

Little update on the daily driver situation, I sold off the Wrangler and got into an F-150 lease. Love the truck, but I also drive a 10 year old Grand Cherokee to work a few days a week, which defeats the purpose of having the truck. Leaning towards getting out of the lease and into a CPO M4 for about the same price as my monthly lease.

I always wanted an E92 M3, but really like the M4, especially since they are going for about the same price as the E92's... the M4 is a better buy overall. Pretty excited to start looking around for one!

Anyways, how do you like daily driving the M3, and how does it compare to the Shelby R? Any insight on 6MT vs. DCT?

I love the F80 M3 as a daily. It is not as good of an overall package as the R (steering feel and feedback is not great, I hate the exhaust sound, etc.) but it is great at being a "normal" 3 series (everything in comfort mode) if you are driving home on a conference call... but is also enjoyable to drive, is a great performance car when pushed (at "reasonable" street speeds corners well, similar straight line performance to the R). Again, my biggest complaint is the steering... (and it is not "terrible" IMO)... just not as good as maybe prior M3's... or some of the best current sports cars on the market.

I got the DCT solely so the wife can drive it if needed (she can't / doesn't have the desire to learn to drive stick) - from my perspective it is "good" but is rough at times (doesn't bother me) - shifts are lighting fast in sport plus. Clearly not as engaging as a 6 speed but still fun - that is why it is great to own multiple cars!

GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation. Tried F-150 and RAM and choose this one because it was the best deal, looks good (tmo) and most important, capable of towing my GT350 to the track.

I hear you. I was in the same boat but just couldn’t let her go. Great bang for your buck performance car from the mid 00’s. Wish I would have kept my 03 cobra...

For the past 9 years my daily is Audi S4. I tuned the car with APR stage 2+, Milltek exhaust, APR Carbonio cold air intake, Bilstein shocks, AK plate stabilizer and some other goodies. The car is around 480 hp and feels quicker and snappier than GT350 due to supercharger. But GT350 drives better driving better response. These are totally different cars. I like driving them both, GT350 a little bit better though. View attachment 443744

This well thought of thread shows us that for most our GT350’S are that special day car ! I’ve been driving m 1991 Ford F-150 named “ TwoTone” when inclement north Idaho weather comes in and a 2000 Saleen Speedster for sunshine! But now sold I’m moving into a rare 1965 Mercury Comet Cyclone 4speed!

Nice S4! The GT350 brings in the best kind of car enthusiasts... brand agnostic!

I just sold my '08 RS4 a few months ago in a BaT auction. It also felt much snappier at throttle tip in. I think that Ford probably dialed back the initial "bite" to prevent traction loss and snap oversteer. I got a little bit back when going with the Lund tune, but it was nowhere near the RS4's AWD head snapping initial response.
