Circled in yellow, it appears to be attached to the CAI tunnel before the box.
(edited to add: ...and do I want to get rid of it?)

The stock air-intakes have a few little....odd......growths. I believe they're to smooth the incoming air out.

But that's just my guess. Someone with the knowledge will tell you exactly that that is.

That's the spunk reservoir. It dumps into the exhaust when you get on it and really start spankin' it.
Could also be where the blinker fluid goes. Or it may be the retro-encabulator housing.

It's part of the CAI system. you can see it in this video at the 2:15 mark:

If it's a resonator then it would be used to cancel out some unwanted frequency or turbulence from the airflow. Fluid dynamics is never black and white. I'd not screw with it unless you're replacing the entire assembly that goes with it (airbox or whatever it is).

I read a description of its function once, can't remember where, but the basic idea is to allow smooth air flow in changing conditions. I think it was supposed to allow pressure waves to dissipate without going down the throat of the intake.

What he said. If you take it off, that 1 pig sound whenever you romp at it might turn into a whole family of pig squeeling sound or it might sound like a rally car. :crackup:

Everybody knows the 2018s have LEDs so no more blinker fluid. In case you were wondering, I have no muffler bearings either because my inverted A-Pipe eliminated them.

I found the answer;

I remember this guy when he owned a garage and took his grandson to see Willy Wonka
