Will move out of my house and sleep in the car (which might actually be true if the wife gets hold of my plans to mod the car!)

For all those with their S550's, It might be worth checking this Video out:

There's also a 'hidden key' in the US models, inside of the arm rest compartment, at the bottom under the lining. (Not sure if any UK RHD owners can confirm it's in theirs aswell)

Again, stuff if thieves know you're probably on the less safer side.

On other notes, in terms of protection i've got:

8 way HD security system over the house, with one looking directly at the garage and can easily identify faces from 40 ft away (End of my drive).

Planning to get some form of tracker for the car, hide it somewhere so it's hard to 'disable' (Neighbours R8 got stolen and by the time he'd got on to track it, the signal had already been dropped - funny story to that is that the signal later 'came back on' in a port in southern France. But his tracker was an Audi provided one)

I scared myself earlier this year when reading about keyless car thefts. Apparently with a portable signal booster someone can stand next to your car as if they had the key on them, when in reality it's 30 feet away in your house. Sound's daft I know but would hate to be the victim of something like that. Stories of people keeping their car keys in the freezer! Or some kind of protective bag/box that blocks wireless signals.
Other than that I'm a light sleeper so if anyone does fancy a go, they will regret it :paddle:
I've seen this - the guy next-door-but-one to us had his Evoque stolen from his driveway back around easter. He's got CCTV on the front of the house, so it recorded the whole thing. Woman walks up to the car with a box in her hand (around size of a cigarette packet) - presses button on box, car unlocks. Get's in, presses "start" button on the dash and drives away. Unbelievable. There was a spate of it - maybe 12 Range Rover's went round our way over a two week period. When he replaced the car (with a Merc, as Range Rover's were too easy to steal), he installed a pop-up steel post at the end of the drive - you'd need an angle grinder to steal his motor now.

TBH, the faraday cage approach to transponder keys is probaby enough though - even a biscuit tin would work. Try it with your phone - put it in the tin, try ringing it. If you can't ring your mobile, chances are they can't use an RF amp to get at the key in there either.

Good tip on the biscuit tin! Unless your car their has a sweet tooth, then he's sussed where your keys are.

Yeah, if someone is going to break into your house for your car keys. (Which they did with my neighbours), it's worth leaving your keys in the non-obvious places. IE) kitchen counter top, anywhere by the front door etc.

Maybe we should hide the keys in our sock draw in tomorrows socks?

Okay over protective aside, Security Cam, Tracker, should work. If possible the 'security bollards' are absolutely amazing. They're fairly pricey to get installed. Just need to make sure you put the bollard sensor NOT in your car because then it's pointless, whack it on your house keys if necessary.
