The deal is real, but you have to trade and don't expect a good interest rate. In the end, my wife, whom I told was crazy at the time. Got a local dealer to match the deal to make the sale, or we were driving to GA. In the end they did better, cause they threw in the spare tire and gave me financing I am happy to keep. 1.74% for 60 months. Made my Mustang dream come true sooner rather than later or not at all because of this and I am very happy overall. Show the deal to your most aggressive dealer and tell them you will travel to get it but you wanted to give them the chance first. They either will or will not make the deal.
I pay cash and don't trade, so $2K of the $6K is my money anyway. When all was said and done my local deal was better without any overstated claims.

Buying car checklists
1) kbb.com (trade in value dealership vs consumer)
2) estimate from carmax, go to truecar.com estimate your value sign up and contact dealership via email and see what they will sell you the car for. Including any employee pricing (AT&T)
3) visit several Lexus dealerships to test drive (the dealership you don't want to buy from) get an estimate, so you car use that later to fight against another dealership in price about their offer.
4) research the car you want online check dealership inventories ( they will want to sell you the car on their lot vs you making a order online), when walkin to the dealership pretend you know nothing about the car you've researched.
4.5) find out what is your financial comfort zone how much you're willing to add to your current car note. Make sure you don't tell them keep it to yourself
5) in conversation say that you will deposit 1 to 2 k (so they will work with you knowing that you're serious)
6) dealership are here to make money so with have all your documents in hand ready to(prices) negotiate a "fair" price so you and the dealership will come down to a consensus, make sure you negotiate one price at the time (new car, then the trade in value, if you're confused at the time take a step back and study the numbers)
6.5) while you trade in your car at the dealership they should give you back your taxes on your previous car that goes towards your new vehicle
7) while test driving mention different car models other then Lexus that you are genuinely interested in.
8) poker face it's just a car dont show them how much you love the car you actually want.
9) finance make sure you get a low rate and don't settle for less
10) check for current incentives because you work at ATT and rebates the manufacturer offer at the current time (Google that) (mention that only at the end !!!!)

I saw base GT with performance package and cloth RECAROs for $32k all day for weeks within 500mi. I was content with that. The wife wanted leather RECAROs, navigation, and premium features. Not bad. Feels like a different car.

I would've totally been happy with the $32k option as well. They can't be had in town for a good price. Waaaayyy too overpriced here. Had to drive 2hr to get this one.

Mine was a prem, but no bells because I never used it on my previous car, which I used my phone for nav, recaros were uncomfortable, the only thing I valued was the bliss system

Here is what they told me.

"We are trying to build our allocation on ford mustang orders for Akins. We are doing $4000 off plus another thousand dollars when you finance plus another thousand dollars with the trade-in. Are you going to finance? Thanks Woody Sowder 770-402-4459",

So, how much of the $4,000 is rebates that you don't qualify for, such as college grad $500, Military $500, lease renew $1,000 etc......

Price paid on this thread means nothing because you don't know the whole story, only what people think they paid. Just like this deal, if it sounds to good to be true, go down the road.
I can't speak to the "specifics" of this exact deal/offer you referenced; however, I purchased a 2015 EB Premium (PP, auto, ESG) from Akins and Mr. Sowder in August of last year. They were running a very similiar deal. I received $5K off, $500 Ford Cash and $500 Military Rebate. There was no requirement to finance through Ford Credit for an additional $1K off (I did, however, because I qualified for 0% APR for 72 months, but it did not allow me an additional 1K off the price of the car). I also didn't have a trade in...so there was also not an $1K allowance for a trade it.

I looked for two months for the lowest price I could find and Koons in Baltimore (about a 9 hour drive for me) was the only other dealer I found NATIONWIDE whose prices were as discounted as Akins. They were also easy to work with...no pressure to buy any extended warranty or any other "add on's". From my arrival to pick up the car, unti the time I left (on a Wednesday evening), was about an hour...give or take a few minutes. Investigate the dealership for yourself and make your own decision...I purchased a nicely equipped EB Premium with PP, auto and ESG for a little under $29K; the MSRP was a little over $34K. That to me is a pretty good deal!

I never thought about it until now when I did the conversion. I guess I got a good deal.
'16 GT Base 6-Speed. Deep Impact Blue, No Options.

$27,584 US *or* $37,975 Canadian. Plus Tax, of course.

But I only ordered at the beginning of this month. That's the internet price I was given which is $2k off MSRP. I'm hoping I can get another $1,000 off with my Costco membership (if they still do that) or at the very least, get my salesman to throw in a fitted car cover just to make me feel better.

We'll see. I figure that's a fair deal. Not the best, but fair. But I also have a 7-hour drive to pick it up, and a 7-hour drive back. Local dealer wanted to rape me with 5.5% for 8 years!
Dealer I'm buying from approved me for the 2.49% they advertise with a 5-year term. (No Trade-In, but have 10K cash)

I purchased a 2016 GT fastback in magnetic metallic color, 1 option: auto trans.

MSRP: $34,490

Paid: $29,309
Rebate - $1,000
Dealer fee +$599
Total paid: $28,908 (+tax,tag,title,doc fee)

Dealer invoice prices w/ holdback:
Mustang GT $29,797
Auto trans $1,067
Delivery fee $825
Total $31,689

Did the dealer actually lose money on this sale?

You certainly got a great deal. From what I can see you did BETTER than Koons which isn't something I've seen before!!

Here is the same car in CO and realize the WOW price does NOT include dealer fee or destination/delivery!! So you essentially beat Koons by over $1500! Again, something I haven't seen in the months I've been following pricing.

http://www.koons.com/new/Ford/2016-Ford-Mustang-baltimore-washington-dc-f30d62ff0a0e0a170a2315f89fb78252.htm

What dealer was this at?? I've got NO problems taking my family on a vacation to FL and driving my car home when I pull the trigger.

EDIT: Wait, I'm confused...you start your list with "Paid" but then work your way down to "Total"....

Thanks
