Looked at change oil warning light, 500 miles after the last service 2 months ago Mmmmm. I'm sure I cleared that before Christmas so why is it back on.

Just so on page, can you confirm the timeline. Seems to say change was in January but reset in December? I agree something is strange if reset in December or anytime after.

sorry, that was a terrible description of events i wrote.
So, the car had been serviced March 2023 at 37k miles (i presume Ford reset the oil life msg) and when the oil service life msg popped up there in November 2023 at 41k miles there or thereabouts i just reset it as i'd only done 4k miles mostly motorway (freeway?) miles i knew the car would be getting it's yearly service ish Feb 2024. Figured why change the oil for such a small number of miles.
January 2024 car got serviced with 42k miles (not with Ford this time) on the clock and barely 500miles after that and 4ish months since i reset the oil life msg, the oil ife message is back again. Seems to be quite soon to come up, should i be changing oil that often and being a pre facelift model with the 0-20W recommendation would there be any benefit to move to 0-30W ?

Red Vlands can fail MOT - because the orange indicator does not shine through the red lenses enough, apparently.
Very easily swapped for mot. I did stand back and think thatā€™s not very orange lol

Exhaust bank vct solenoid changed and p0024 code came back and car drives like before, fuffing off idle. Fck a duck. Looks like the cam phaser is busted and that's not a cheap part or replacement job. Will check Tue when the parts department opens.

Picked up and installed a new battery yesterday. The online retailer I ordered from was messing me around with expected delivery times (nothing to suggest it was out of stock when ordering), so I ended up grabbing one from Halfords.

Must be a placebo effect, but it feels like it just runs better! The battery was so shot, I had to jump start it over the weekend to get to the petrol station, then jump it again at the petrol station lol. This was after taking it out for a long drive the day before. Also got a spanner symbol suggesting a powertrain service was needed, but that went on the next start up.

been a bit peeved with the car and decided to er hoof it a bit with the first dry road surface in weeks. Who knew the entire rev counter lights up RED when entering (getting awfully close to) the danger zone ? Must admit I didn't feel any limiter as such and i would normally shift 6.5k latest (pre facelift model) so i've never been that close to rev limiter. Who knew indeed.

My Rev limit is upped to 7500 iirc, I regularly have changed about 6800/6900 and it lights up like a baboons arse lol

Iā€™m also peeved with mine, 8 months now and no resolution for my P166A code despite multiple garages and auto sparks, itā€™s driving perfectly and Iā€™m tempted to have the code deleted and just use the thing šŸ˜«

Manual with Whipple, it seems like everytime the car struggles more and more to drive from stop when I try to get biting point and gas. It shakes no matter how much gas i give it then it starts moving. Definitely sign to replace clutch or ā€˜whipple characteristicā€™?

Iā€™d say thatā€™s clutch, over heated flywheel?

More work to do, Zimmerman Sport Z discs all round with Powerstop Z26 pads, have to be better than the horrific Stop Tec pads I have fitted, they overheat so quickly!
