Having the hose contact the body of the car same way in the picture is not a good idea at all.

I use the dry method where the bleeder just pressurizes the master cylinder (no fluid in it). Just make sure the master brake reservoir has enough fluid and keep checking during the bleeding to ensure it doesn't drop below min. level. Car also has PPF on the front clip to protect the paint for track days.

Method I have been successful with thus far:
- pump pressure bleeder to about 8 psi
- start with pass rear caliper inner than outer bleeder
- next driver rear inner than outer bleeder
- passenger front inner than outer bleeder
- driver front Inner than outer bleeder

If you are going to completely replace all of the brake fluid first siphon out as much as you can from the master cylinder brake reservoir and use the standard ‘wet’ method whereby the pressure bleeder is filled with two containers (about a liter) of fluid. When using this method it is a good idea to lay plastic around in case a hose pops as mention by Niz.

Great minds think alike...

Oil and trans fluid done yesterday. Diff fluid done tonight. Just need to bleed the brakes and ready for next weekend. I also use the dry method you describe with a Motive pressure bleeder. Not only does it eliminate the risk of mess from hose failure it makes the whole process easier since you don’t have to clean out the bleeder bottle and hose with denatured alcohol after using it.

Looks like normal break-in debris caught in the oil filter. Some engines will have more or less than others, but that doesn't look abnormal to me. Check it again on oil change #2.

Nice!

I can't bring myself to pay money every year for vanity plates. Does anyone know where I can get a dash plaque made to match my state assigned license plate?

Got the car back from the dealership to repair AC and Catalytic converter gone bad - generated a check engine light and code P0430. All was repaired under warranty. This is the second time AC went down in less than a year.

Also had a strange short but noticeable whining noise when accelerating from a stop. They changed diff fluids although it was done 2 track days ago. Either something wrong with the Synchroshift fluid which I doubt or not properly filled ? Probably the latter. In any case, dealership changed diff fluid with the Ford stuff this time and no more noises.

Last but not least, they changed engine oil and filter as I usually do after two full track days. Bought a set of Hawk break pads. DTC70’s in the front and DTC60’s for the rear. Tire Rack had and still has a 60 $ mail in rebate.

She’ll be ready for my next track day with HOD this Saturday at NJMP Lightning with fellow forum members TDC and GoesTo11
