“Decontaminated and coated the calipers too“
STOP IT! 🤣 My list is getting longer now and it should be getting shorter. Now I’ll have to do that, and the new FP springs and sway bars before I put them in, and also clean up and coat the struts while they are out too.... 😝

Seriously though, if you are lifting and dropping often for wheels off, suspension, cleaning, anything, get yourself some jacking rails and Quick jacks. I love mine and use them all the time.
Quick jacks all the way
My new wheel just arrived can't wait to get it fitted.

believe so but i don't want to mess around with it myself.
Steering wheel swap is very easy, just make sure you disconnect battery first. There is also a very good you tube video showing swap

I look forward to pics,
Hopefully it will be a straight over swap out..

John..
Easy peasy to do yourself. No special tools needed. Ensure you unhook the battery so as to prevent the airbag popping. Whoops. Didn't notice the identical post above.

Anyone done the genuine Gt350 wheel? I'm not a fan of epm wheels. They're a bit on the ricer side for my liking.

Yeah I've installed the GT350 wheel. Its an easy job, just take your time. Take the old off, transfer all the switch gear and re install. Lots of you tube clips around. Found some old pictures from 2017 when I did it.

Sure have, there's quite a few with the GT350 wheel.
I did consider it but the fact that it was too similar to the OE wheel in thickness and i have seen some used alcantara wheels and they do need slightly more care and attention to look good. EPM wheels have a better ergonomic feel which also led me down this path and they are only as ricer as you want to make them which is why i stuck with mainly black. They are after all a custom wheel unlike the FP wheel which are either black alcantara/leather bottom with grey stitching or the same with red sightline and stitching. To each their own , no right or wrong here just choice.

I'm not completely sure what I'm going to do with my old wheels. At the very least I want them clean before I either sell or store them. Hopefully, this will be the last time I wash and detail them!

Washed with Brake Buster un-dilluted to strip the coating off them, then followed up with an iron remover.

I also clayed the wheel face, spokes and barrels.

Once dried, I took the opportunity to give them a polish. With all those spokes, it was time consuming and fiddly.

I wasn't chasing perfection, just wanting to restore some clarity and shine. I also gave them a coat of Bead Maker for some added shine and protection.

And with that, so concludes my long and strained affair with S550 PP1 wheels. 🎉 🎉🎉🎉

Full size spare is an option

First clean of my new wheels today. That said, there was not much to wash. The ceramic coating has really stopped brake dust from adhering to the wheels. I think I could have just rinsed them off and been done with it but, well, you know the story by now.......

I can't begin to tell you how much joy there was cleaning these wheels with such ease today, just so easy to get everything with brushes and wash mitt. I do still need a bristled brush to get behind the caliper though.
