What a car

I am coming up on 7K miles and roughly 8 months of owning my 22 Mach 1. I own some very cool cars, and have owned some VERY cool cars during my 33 years. In fact, I've owned 23 cars and motorcycles combined. This car for some reason screams emotion whenever I drive it and sit in it. I am completely guilty of developing a relationship with my cars, an attachment. There is a significance about it that reminds me of my first car, my 90 "Penguin" Miata, but that is a long story. Maybe it's about how we come across some of these cars, and who is in our life at the time? Maybe it's the type of memories that are made, I'm not sure. Maybe there's a psychologist on here that can chime in and explain how we develop attachments to these cars. Anyway, Happy Friday. Feel free to post your beauty with pride on this thread.

Nice note. The only car I felt like that was a fully restored 65 gto 4 spd tri power vert.im 79 and had one I n college.when I turned 50 and my kids were thru college. I decidsed to get one.sold it couple years ago.my knees couldn't handle the clutch. But loved the car so know the feeling.

Congrats on finding that bond. I've owned my 22 since new, but I just haven't fallen in love with it. I don't think it's going to happen, unfortunately.

Now, my supercharged 04 Mach 1 is another story. That car stole my heart the day I brought it home 17yrs ago. Still Fords best era IMO.

I'll try....

When I was 16-18, I dated this girl from school. I was a tough-headed kid then, and I wasn't sure what path I was going to be taking in life. After a couple of years as we grew older, we split in 2010 and remained friends. That's not the important part. It was her parents who became some of the most important people in my life and still are. Her dad is like a father to me, always has been. He bought this car roughly into a year of us dating and I just locked souls with it. I met my now wife in 2011, I bought this from him finally. 3 days later I asked her to be my girlfriend. (When she changed her last name when we got married, she became Nicolette A. Reed. My name is Nicholas A. Reed) I courted her in this car, we took trips together, and we were all 3 like an item. The 3 of us were like the center of attention between her group of friends and mine. Mainly because I would pull stunts like this. Her birthday is Valentine's Day so I would come to her school with the Penguin loaded up with balloons, flowers, and a teddy bear. I also grew up in this place called Crowder's Mountain and my parents forced me to drive it since I was about 10 years old. And me and this car became known pretty well locally on that mountain when everybody at that time used to head over there around 9pm on weekends and hang out and cat and mouse it all night before it became an issue years later for the locals. I ended up having 4 Miatas after this in total that were above and beyond in terms of quality and the builds I took them down, but this one left a real hole in my heart because it was out of my control, like it was taken from me. 8 months on the day into owning it, we were t-boned by some woman driving a Honda Oddyssey who was taking pills I guess. We got a good settlement out of it, but it still sucked.

For some reason, the Mach 1 has filled that hole.

i feel the same way about mine, man. its not perfect but man ford got REALLY close to perfect for me.

Awesome story. I agree, I am so glad I went for this M1. Its a perfect daily for me right now. I had 2014 Mustang GT previously, as much as I loved that car this one just blows it out of the water. It just does it all well, handling, comfort, looks, etc. Also nice to see its not very common, I probably see one or 2 every 6 months or more. Enjoy

I’ve had a few Z28’s, Trans Ams, a 70 442 plus my Mustangs. The only other manual I ever had was a 1982 RX-7. That car was simply a blast as small as it was.

Hi, I have to say they are infectious. I'm coming up to 61 and literally changed my car once a year but I have now owned this for 7 years and have no intention of selling. I think with all the choices I made for mods it becomes personal, for me anyway. Sorry, i posted this on another thread as well

That's a great looking Stang. What you pay vs what you get is pretty much unmatched from any country.
