I feel anger, disappointment, sadness and regret. Why? 5 months in...some dude carelessly took a left turn into an intersection without seeing me from oncoming traffic in the far lane and I couldn't avoid it. CRASH! Right into the side of his lame Hyundai (Yes, everyone is fine. No airbags deployed in either vehicle). Only had this car for 4-6 months and it's uglier than my 2005 mustang that I had for 9 years with no damage! I cannot and will never be able to look at my new one the same ever again and it wasn't my fault (immediately admitted he was at fault).

Regardless, now I have to take it to a collision center/body shop. I NEVER trust anything in the NOVA area. I DAMN guarantee they won't get my car back to original OEM or matching paint (Ingot silver) even if I bitch about it.

Below is the only part of the car and the worst of it to preserve the anonymity of myself in case the other driver (at fault) lurks this forum.

Any advice on what I should be doing to get this back into attractive form! I have an appointment for appraisal and will go from there.

Viewer discretion is advised below....

Do you have a local Ford dealer with a body shop? We have had the rear bumper replaced twice on our 2012 Fusion due to people running into us while we were sitting still. If I didn't tell someone, they would never know it.

So sorry this happened to you. I would be devastated. And mad.

I had the same thing happen to me 1 month after I bought my Challenger RT. And then this past weekend my drunk neighbor backed his f150 into my car. Body shop estimated my bumper to be fixed for less than a thousand though.

You think this is under $1000? Just curious how bad you guys think this is.

The whole fascia/fender is falling off from the left to the right. Some damage on the tip of the hood and headlights (scratched). Oh and my sto and sho is bent upwards. I wonder how insurance is going to cover that..I'm not paying 80$ again for a sto and sho.

I was planning on using my insurance's places for appraisal then taking that estimate to my Ford dealer's repair shop which uses a Dodge repair shop.

Sorry to hear about that man that sucked. I will give you a little advice make sure that every panel that is beyond repair to make sure that the body shop puts on oem panels/bumper and blend every adjacent panels. Blend the driver door and the right fender because of the new front bumper and what looks like you might need a new hood also (not sure but it looks to have a crease in it)the hood won't be easy to fix because it is aluminum.

If you were closer I would have you bring it down to me and I could take of it no problem. I have worked for a Ford dealer for over 12 years painting cars and have sprayed that color quite a few times with a very high quality paint. The color is not that bad but needs to be blended everywhere as with any silver. Good luck man I hope they take of you the right way

I highly doubt it if it's any more than just bumper damage. Mine was just going to need the cover replaced, nothing with headlights or bumper. You're probably looking at a bill of at least $2000.

NO!!!

Do not use a Ford body shop. Dealer body shop guys are HACKS!

please, everyone on this board heed my advice. Know who you will use for a body shop NOW, before you need it. I don't care if I am 1,000 miles away. Should my car ever need body work, I know the shop where it's going. Have built that trust up over 25 years.

And take your car to your trusted body shop and leave it with them. They will handle the adjusters and estimates. Don't go to your insurance adjuster place, make them come to you. And NEVER use the insurance "preferred" body shop.

Any damage to that fender?

Glad no one was injured, aka airbag deployment.

5 months in owning my 12 and I came out to a swiped passenger side. Took out the door and rear quarter panel. No note, just left me with a big pain in the ass. Too many stupid people out there that can't drive.

Are you me? The EXACT same thing happened to me and i have only had my car for a week before it happened. Guy says he was waved into my lane by the car in the left hand lane in my direction of traffic, probably didn't even look to see if it was safe. Estimate for me was 3,500 that his insurance is covering 100% but it still pisses me off that it happened.

Time to replace with roush fascia
Exactly

Your hood looks bent. being as it is Alu, I don'tknow if they can bend it back. Alu body work costs 2X as much as the norm. It might be less expensive in getting a new one. Check the tabs on your head and Fog lights and blinker. Its his insurance paying, you need the car to go back to OEM at a minimum. You might want to check the compression bumper also.

Are those gaps from the accident or the ones that come with the car?
