Not sure about you UK guys, but my 3.2 KB just made 635hp 560tq to the wheels on the 91 tune since that’s all I can’t get in this state. That’s 748 at the flywheel, more than the 725 listed for the 91 tune. And that was with him lifting at 6300 because he thought the redline was 6500. After that it was heat soak city. So there’s a little more left in her, and that’s just just on ten PSI.

Looking good! Have you got a Dyno reading (Graph) pre KB? it would be interesting to compare the differences in the curve/output.
Unfortunately, no. Wish I would have, just never got around to it.

Congrats on the Supercharger purchase, curious to know how much it ended up costing all in del. to door.

Please do dyno runs before and after install :D

No idea where this myth about the KB blowers being underpowered has come from. @zero_chance dyno run proves this too and im sure countless others. they are just damn hard to get a hold of.

Bill Shepherd is selling the F5 for 70k and it has a KENNE BELL on it and is claiming 800hp PLUS at the crank. Built in 2017 and did the goodwood climb

https://www.billshepherdmustang.com/f5-fos

The amount of testing KB do and the overkill nature of the design means all the stuff you get with the kit is good to handle 1400hp.

The 2.8LC is a twin screw SC (not a roots style SC) rated for 750hp at the crank with a 50 state legal tune on 91 octane and that's the smallest kit they offer. Get a 93 octane tune and they can add 1 to 2 more psi which is plus 20 to 40hp (plus 20hp for each psi). Anything beyond that means the engine needs to be built and resleeved. Then, you can join the 1000hp club without any real problem and shoot for as much power as you want based on how deep your pockets are.

All the big boys on the strip running reliable 1000+hp supercharged ponies doing pass after pass day after day are running big KB 4. something superchargers

Including the VAT/Duty it’s cost about £5300 I think.

Nailed it on the head. This is my third KB, but the first on a mod motor. Thing drives like stock unless you get on it. I remember spending months trying to tune my old 95 GT with the KB and never did completely eliminate all of the issues. Crazy world of horsepower we live in these days. Speaking of the 1000HP club, there’s a dealer in the states selling brand new GTs that they put a Hellion Kit on that deliver 1k at the flywheel. On the stock block. It would be cool to say you have that much power but I was able to spin the tires at highway speeds before going to 305 tires in the back. Can’t imagine you’d be able to do much with 1000HP without some major work to put it to the pavement. And who knows how long the block would stay happy.

considerably less than it will soon as this particular charger has been discontinued and been heavily discounted. only 1 left i believe now.

Interesting that they discontinued it, do we know why? The other brands continue to offer an Eaton SC

That's decent. It would be interesting to see exact power numbers on the dyno. It's a shame that it doesnt come with a cold air intake kit which is much needed on Roots style SC's due to the higher air temps by design. (Every 10 degree F increase in temp results in the loss of 1% HP)

To put it in perspective, a KB kit with billet engine motor mounts, 8x NGK LTR71x-11 #6510 spark plugs, with the cold air kit design, liquid cooling and overkill components and a polished finish was around £6200 door to door as they had a 15% off sale recently. Subtract £500 for a black non polished version would have made it £5700

Dang. 3rd! You must really be happy with them. But then why wouldn't you be. The instruction are so easy, Rick and Mike are always on hand to answer any questions and the components are overkill. Everyone who has had a KB on the S550 has said the driveability is amazing. Can't wait to find that out myself.

1k HP. That's insane. I thought about turbos but the poor driveability just puts me off. I think it's would be fair to say that the car will be a coffin. Plus with no changes to the internals, 1000hp means you are playing with fire and living on borrowed time. Not just the block but the prop shaft and the half shafts.

To do 1000hp properly and in a reliable way requires deep pockets. Best to do 750 to 800, live with it for a few years and avoid hard launches on sticky tires whilst upgrading the driveline components and then rebuild the engine.

Like you say though, it becomes undriveable.

they have a newer version based on the 2650 rather than the 2300. never quite understand the logic in reducing the price for the sake of "just wanting them gone" though. but i guess no one would buy them if they were the same price as the more efficient 2650 version. this is a good $2000 cheaper though which is a great discount.

It’s certainly faster, but think the mapping could be better so will be going for a custom setup soon. Lost some low down torque.

Took the day to fit but did some last minute fettling today. The kit is for LHD so some of the bits don’t fit so had to mod some piping but nothing hard.

The K brace does have to be trimmed a fair bit to clear the blower and side covers.

Mike @KB is who I’ve always worked with.

sounds like a custom tune is definitely in order then. My KB has 500 foot pounds of torque at 3000 RPM on just their supplied tune. What boost are you at?

Were any of the RHD mods different from what it says in the instructions?
