Hey guys, does this look like a future head gasket issue? The only other source I can think of is valve cover gasket. 10,000 miles. Any input welcomed.

Just normal seepage. Its fine. Leave it. You have a 5yr/60K Miles warranty to blow that engine up. So if your concerned have the dealer take a look.

Here’s how you can tell if that (or say any other similar seepage) will be a genuine issue:

Get some carb cleaner or Simple Green and carefully spray down that exact area. If the area is accessible or reachable, use a micro fiber towel and wipe down any residual carb cleaner or dampness. If you have access to an air compressor or aerosol canned air, either method will dry it in a single burst.

Drive the car for the next 2 days and recheck the area of the original seepage. If that area OR surrounding area is damp again, it’s definitely an issue. If the area is NOT damp, then there’s no issue.

The early S550 EB builds (2015-2016’s) had oil seepage in 2 locations:

1) at the front left of the timing cover, almost near that area in your pic, but the oil was only visible on the front of the timing cover and seeped down the front of it. That was due to a single timing cover bolt needing additional thread sealer on it.

2) at the oil pressure sender that was down near the oil filter. This seepage was due to the sender not being tight enough. Clean and hand tighten, that fixed the problem.

I’ve not heard of any 2018/19 EB’s having those above issues... that’s not to say it can’t happen again.

Thanks for the info! If I can get some decent weekend weather, I'll clean it up & watch.
