I washed my aem dry air filter and left it drying like 2 hours. Then i installed it and started the car up and it died. Checked the air filter again and water got inside the inlet tube it still wasnt dried. Had to dry things up and had to leave it more time drying.
Please be carefull.

Maybe use just air to clean it out next time? Canned air or leaf blower?

Just wait longer for the filter to dry next time you clean it. Clean it right before bed and reinstall in the morning.

I've heard some of these dry filters can take days to dry. That's right. Days. Not surprised you had an issue after only let it dry for a couple hours.

Makes me wonder how long my Roush cone filter will take to dry now. Bought the cleaner the other day and was planning on doing that sometime this weekend, but don't really want to be be down more than just overnight.

For my CAI, I had two filters that I could swap out. That way I did not have to wait while I cleaned and oiled the filter after taking it out.

Mine is a dry filter from what I've found so far (official Roush page) so that saves me some time then. For the drying, can a heat gun work? Don't have either of the other two.

my Roush filter for my GT took hours, overnight, and a wetvac. my advice is to go buy another Roush filter so you can alternate between a clean one and one that's being cleaned.

This thread reminds me. I need to pull off the filter on my JLT intake and measure it and then order one of the Amsoil dry filters to replace it. I've used them a lot. No need for cleaner or oil - just blow them out with compressed air or a shop vac and put back on.

For those like me with a gas forced air furnace, just put on one of the floor vents.
