I currently have a base model 2018 gt, I had a 2006 premium v6 pony car that had the 1000 watt shaker system. What would I need to get to make my car sound like my old shaker system? I would also need to get it installed, I'm just not savvy about this stuff. Basically I want the booming sound of that big sub woofer my older car had. And any idea how much this might cost me to buy and have a tech install it properly? Thanks for any help.

I should know tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to a good shop in town tomorrow, replacement of 9 factory speakers, amp for them and one sub with custom box for trunk with amp. Going to get quote and if I like price try and get them to install end of week.

Ok, here is the equipment:

Punch 1000 5 channel
JL Audio Line output converter
Wiring kits for amp and speakers, labor
6.5" JL evolution components up front
6.5" JL evolution components in rear deck

Will install on rack hidden in spare tire hole, and go ahead and setup for the 12" stealthbox Ill install next month. Amp powers the entire system, so only one amp which is nice. $1900.

Yeah, I am excited. They tried to talk me into these higher end JL and Focal 3 ways for up front, at well over $1000 a set. No thanks lol. I mean it is already pricey, but I set a budget... Plus I'm not going to compete, just for my enjoyment.

I had the regular shaker (without sub)in my 2016. I too wanted it to sound like the shaker 1000 in the s197 body.
I went the cheap route and had a single 10 installed with a 300watt amp if I remember right. Cost right around 250-300 and it did the trick for me.
im not an audiophile just someone who likes loud and cheap.
to me my car sounded better than my shaker 1000 in my s197.

edit: I remember being told by the installer the reason the old ones sounded so good was the door speakers were actually small sub woofers.

You can do what I did and add a jl powered sub in the back. About $570 for the unit, $70 for the install kit, and a couple of hours wiring from the battery. That’s the path of least resistance for the biggest bang.
