The "thanks" feature was just added today due to some members' requests. It can only be enabled/disabled system-wide so let's have a vote whether you want to see this feature stay or not.

Please vote Yay or Nay.

For an idea of how it looks:

I like the feature. It's a good way to be able to show agreement with a point someone made, or that you like something without having to post.

I'd like it if it didn't take up as much screen real estate under the posts where it appeared. I promise to thank people more vigorously if it isn't adopted! :)

Not sure what the downside is. If you don't want to thank anyone, then don't.

I think a LIKE button would be more useful.

It takes up extra screen real estate under someone's post. It reminds me of when you are not signed into a forum and you see advertisements in between actual member comments. I find that distracting. I do like the intent, however.

Ditch it. Way too much screen real estate taken up by it.

Maybe if it didn't make a separate post after someone was thanked.

I really don't care one way or another.

I don't have a problem with the concept, just the execution. The visual design needs work. Right now it's just too distracting.

If I had access to the stylesheet I'd make changes to reduce the visual impact - incorporate the "thanks" box directly into the post, simplify the verbiage ("The Following User Says Thank You to Joe Schmo For This Useful Post" could be taken down to "Thanked By") and reduce the font size to take some of the weight off. Without making changes like these the "thanks" box has almost as much visual weight as the post itself which is why it's so distracting.

Bingo! I refrained from THANK button use, but Thanks!:clap2:
