Vortech/Paxton intercooler dimensions? Help!

Hey guys

So...I recently picked up a used Paxton beefcake special kit that is incomplete, missing intercooler.

I've been in touch with Vortech directly to get a price on a replacement, and they want $1500 shipped. Not a crazy price, but higher than I was expecting. I've had custom intercoolers made for my previous builds (I used Forge Motorsport in England, who do outstanding work), and am inclined to get another custom one built for my Paxton kit.

My question is...can anyone give me the following dimemsions:



I have the core size: 24” x 13” x 3.5”.

If i works out close in price, custom fab VS OEM, obviously I'll just get the replacement direct from Vortech.

I will, of course, ensure the cooler is adequately rated for the 800hp Paxton kit. I would never be stupid enough to install an 'ebay special' intercooler.

But I need all the above info before I can get a complete quote from Forge.

So....I've been through the part numbers and the Vortech intercooler used in the 5.0 kit shares the same part number as the intercooler used in the Ecoboost intercooler upgrade kit?

It would make sense that Vortech use the same intercooler, since it fits in the same space and is 1000hp rated.

American Muscle sells the intercooler kit at $1199, minus forum discount.


Can anyone confirm if they are indeed the same part? Sharing the same Vortech part number has me 99% convinced they are.

Just found some data on the Ecoboost kit and confirmed the core size is the same, so I'm certain they are the exact same part.

I'm now on the hunt for a used one. Worst case scenario its $1100 new from American Muscle, but I'll hold out for someone parting out a modded Ecoboost for a while before I pull the trigger.
