Just finished going thru the voodoo "how long will it last" thread. I find it informative & helpful in learning about these engines. Thanks for the thread.

Brings to mind a question about how long this engine will be around. Will it be as the original Boss 302 & Boss 429 engines installed in the 69' & 70' Mustangs to homologate the engine? My opinion would be if were to follow that scenario the 16'-18' GT 350's would hold onto a higher value as time marches on.

I'm still fairly new here & if this has been mentioned before please forgive me.

I don't think they would spend that R&D to only have it in production for 3 years.

Which is why they have the 5.2 CPC to help amortize the costs
With a nice high flowing head. I agree it won't likely find its way into anything other than the GT350

It definitely won't. They said on launch, and recently when they unveiled the GT4 that they didn't use the FPC version as it is exclusive to the GT350 and always will be.

I sure am hoping MY18 to be the last of the 350's though... would have been nice to end in 17 though

I like to disassemble things.

That exclusivity doesn't (or at least didn't) extend to racing. Witness the GT350R-C car, the forerunner to the GT4 Mustang as it used the FPC.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the FPC cars do better in the Continental series last year than the CPC cars are doing this year. I have been trying to catch up with it all but they are not showing the races on DirectTV.

The Trinity engine was in production for only two years.
As was RoadRunner.....the '12/'13 Boss 302 engine.

I think Ford will stay true to their word and Voodoo will only be available in the GT350. The question is, will the '18MY be the last, or will the GT350 run for the duration of the S550 product cycle?

That being said. I do believe technologies and lessons learned will be utilised in other engines going forward. Whether that's the CPC 5.2 in the GT4 (and hopefully other SE road-based Mustangs) or even the revised Coyote V3.

:)

The original Boss 302 and 429 engines were also only produced for a very limited time.

I agree. Jamal Hameedi has hinted that the Voodoo engine and the GT350 was partially an exercise in low volume production too.
