Hi all
I’ve made a number of threads about an issue with my 2020 Bullitt and the moment I think it’s resolved the problem returns.

so basically the car feels like it’s dragging, more engine noise and exhaust note sounds off.
Then suddenly another drive cycle and the car will run as smooth as silk and glides and has more power.

I have checked absolutely everything to find the issue and have come up with nothing. Everything is within parameter and working fine with no engine codes.

however
I took the car out today and boom it went to running rough again like it’s dragging again. Anyway I looked at the battery voltage that I’ve never looked at before and I noticed the volts are dropping to 8 volts when accelerating, then back to 14v and back to 8v again when decelerating.

surely that’s not right.
Anyway I started the car again it went back to running smooth and the battery voltage didn’t move one bit 14v bang on more less.

could this be correlated to my performance issues ?.

it wouldn’t be the battery ( it’s brand new )
the alternator wouldn’t affect engine performance

the only thing that could affect it woild
Be the voltage regulator?.

any ideas?.
Thanks

Why wouldn't it be the alternator? If it's not putting out enough voltage, you're not going to get enough voltage for the coil packs, the ECU will not work properly, etc.

Alternator could be going bad, had the same problem with my '03 cobra. it would do what you are telling when i stuffed my foot in it. And shortly after the alternator finally died. those cars had serious alternator issues though.. Went through 4 alternators till i went with a Nations. never heard of it in the S550's

Good point guys
I’ll test the alternator and see what happens.
I just so glad I’ve found a link between bad running engine and a voltage drop.
I exhausted every possibility until now.
