sorry this is my first american car. I really don't know much ! I have had plenty of european cars and have moved all of them. I had a piggyback tune for most of them so I would be able to take it off with ease when coming in to service my car . Anyways, I'm about to spend around 2k on my car. Let me know if you guys like the mods I have chosen to get and don't hesitate to tell m not to get a certain one as I have no clue on these cars.

1:MBRP Cat-Back Exhaust System Street 3" Black Series Fastback GT 2015-2016
Got street because its my daily driver don't want drone
Msrp: $640.00

2:Airaid Cold Air Intake Kit MXP Series With Red SynthaMax Filter GT 2015-2016
Theres a red filter and blue one whats the difference ?
Msrp: $365

3:SCT X4 Power Flash Programmer 2015-2016
let me know if you guys like other tunes better
Msrp: $399

come out to around 1334 with a 5 percent discount at cj pony.

Have heard mixed reviews about the mbrp street. Some folks love them, many say too raspy.

Not sure a CAI is worth it to be honest. Definitely not worth it if you don't get one that requires a tune.

With whatever programmer you go with, you are likely going to want to get a tune over what comes with the unit.

If you don't mind being married to a single tuner, I'd go with the nguage from Lund with one of their custom tunes.

I personally like the sound of the MBRP Exhaust. It's certainly loud enough for me. As far as intakes go, I went Steeda. That one is easily made to be tuned if you like. Take a look at Livernois tuning.

VW/Audi does that flagging of VIN numbers when mods are discovered now. I haven't heard of Ford doing that yet.
Yeah, this was even like 15 years ago with Porsche, I was shopping 996/TTs, and reading up on mods, and there were several folks talking about getting flagged, and once they did, even reversing to stock didn't allow for warranty work (on the drivetrain, and we're talking $25K+ motors).

I guess the upside of the GT, is an intake, tune, headers, etc., is 99% likely not going to cause an issue, and even in the very unlikely case something lets go, Mustang GT parts are at least "cheap". Heck, I understand even the GT500 (that I also cross shopped) 5.8L is _super_ pricey to rebuild/replace.

Here are some promised pics of my Mas and GT ... I can't believe I got the same color lol..
Nice cars ... er, wrong thread? :D

I struggled with this for the first 1,000 miles, but in the end, it's my car. I'm gonna do whatever the hell I want to it. I want maximum enjoyment out of my project, and that's not possible with a stock setup. Like someone else said: if u wanna play...

I don't know if there's any flexibility in your budget, but:

1) I'd buy a Corsa product, Sport if you're gonna upgrade to LTs later, or the Extreme if you're not.

2) I'm happy with my JLT CAI. It seems to be the most widely used unit. Although, the Corsa cold air kit looks really nice.

3) I'll probably get flamed for this, but I don't care. The NGauge is the dominant tuner in this segment for a reason. Buy it, and forget about the SCT product.

Most dealerships won't for simple things like an exhaust and such and if you have a good rapport with one you will be fine, but do not assume the magnuson-moss act will protect you if it does happen. That would be a very stupid mistake that quite a few people have done.

Nguage isn't really the tuner. While I agree it is the device to go with, if OP is only going to load a tune and that is it, the SCT is fine and will save him a few bucks.

Plus with SCT you have more tuners to choose from (including Lund). Nguage from lund is locked to Lund tunes. I think you can get an unlocked version elsewhere, but then again, your tuner selection likely becomes more limited than with SCT.

Agreed. From what I have seen most shops that tune these cars use the SCT device. At least from what I see in my area.

Pssssst.... Hey.... FORD..

Tune these cars like LUND and some others are tuning. Make them feel like they make 435 or more horse power and people will not have to roll that dice.

I always read "what the manufacturer left on the table"..

Why are they leaving anything anywhere???
