So I recently got a 2015 V6 in Ruby Red, while I do like the red I personally am way more attracted to darker colors. I was either gonna go with dark blue all around or just put black wraps on the roof and hood. Only problem I have is I have no idea which wrap to go with, I love Matte and Satin so those are the two I’m definitely choosing between but I can’t seem to find any examples of the dark blue wrap I’m talking about, was just wondering if anybody just so happened to have any kind of dark matte or satin full wrap on their S550?

Keep it ruby red.. its one of the prettiest colors, wrap is cool, but it honestly sucks in comparison. you'll get pelts in it, and be mad, that you wasted all that $. and risk the installer damaging or cutting on your paint and you'll never know til its removed, and you will be out thousands of bucks for the wrap with nothing to show for it when its time to remove.

my opinion. I think the paint is beautiful, meanwhile wraps blah. cool, yes, but not pretty.

I had a ruby red ecoboost, loved it. had compliments everywhere, my grabber blue.... I only get old men complimenting it saying it reminds them of cars from like the 60s.

I appreciate the feedback. Would you bother with wrapping the roof and hood or leave that as well?

I mean, the roof isn't a big deal. if you want a black roof, its a cheap way to do it and removable. no real harm there. but I really wouldn't want vinyl one entire car, you better believe some installers, use razors on your paint, and you will never know. not everyone uses knifeless tape, because, 1 lazy, 2 cheap, 3 they just dont care.

years down road, you go to complain when removed, and see all kinds of cuts, but nothing you can do, the guy dont work there, or the company is out of business or won't have anything to do with you years later.

the roof is a basically a flat square. any good installer can do that. one guy recently had his roof done, and it was utter garbage, looked awful. he cut his losses and tore it off, dont let that be you.
if I wrapped my roof, I think id wrap the mirrors too. but not the hood.

imagine this car, but red.

trying to find a photo. gimme few

here's a car with black roof + black mirrors.

Oh yeah that’s badass, I think I may just end up going with the roof and the mirrors and throw a black spoiler on as well. I was going to do some paint correction because there’s so many scratches, chips and even a small dent right on top of the car that I notice all the time, really bothers me but I thought why not just wrap it instead and change the color completely since it would be cheaper with vinyl rather than repainting the whole car. I’m definitely gonna do some more thinking before I make the decision though, again I really appreciate all the feedback

Don’t get matte wrap either, if you do get it: yet either avery or 3m’s top gloss black wrap. I forget what series they are cslled

I’ve seen matte black roofs and doesn’t look good imo. The gloss though does.

another thing about black gloss roofs imo, is when people have real dark tint, it makes the roof and rear trunk glass look as one solid piece. Looks clean.

myself, I have 55% tint, so I opted not to wrap roof. I do like the black roof and mirror option though.

I was going to say the same thing. What a difference between the 2 photo's you posted. The black wing probably helps too. But I definitely like the mirrors with the roof better.
