Vin Numbers

This may have been raised before but just in case, I believe these are the sequence of VIN Numbers being built. (Mine was built 1 Sept with 1FA6P8CF0H523----)

1FA6P8CF0H520---- = June 2016
1FA6P8CF0H521---- = July 2016
1FA6P8CF0H522---- = August 2016
1FA6P8CF0H523---- = September 2016
1FA6P8CF0H524---- = October 2016

Mine was built in July and the number in that position is a 1 so you are correct. If you search Ford vins you can find out what the numbers and letters in each position represent. Some tell country, others which factory, model etc.

Thanks for the reply Ange, I am at a bit of a loss as to what is actually going on with my order, my dealer has told me I wont get a vin no till after the build , I have not had any contact from Ford Australia, I would of thought if my car was to be built very soon I would have had more info forwarded to myself.

Hi Ray, vin is available usually 2 weeks before build date. Try Ford Australia via Messenger to see if they can help.

Hi Steve, are you sure? My numbers were not referring to last digit? It's the number highlighted in bold that comes before the last 4 numbers.

Mine ends in a 2 and it was built in July.

1 July, mine was scheduled to be built later (August/September) however Ford discontinued Deep Impact Blue from 3 July (MY17 cars) and my delivery (and build) was moved forward. So I think that explains why I have the number 2, for a July build car.

Wold be interesting to see if any other discontinued colours that were also moved forward are the same.

The order in which the cars are built is at the plant’s discretion, Mustang gt619. Therefore, those numbers simply identify your vehicle.

My VIN ends with '3' and Deysha has informed me that mine was tentatively scheduled to be built on 29th of September but that may change.

Hi I ordered my GT Dec 2015 have been told to expect build around 16 Sep which is this coming Friday by my dealer, But all I have got is a 4 digit code which he gave me 2 months ago nothing mentioned about vin no

You should speak to your dealer and try to get your VIN from them, RJ 27. If your vehicle has been built, it definitely has a VIN by now. If you get one, PM me with it so I can check on it.

Hi Ange I spoke to my dealer today he mentioned build still looking like 16/9/16 asked him regarding vin no said he will try to see what he can do

Hi Ray,
Contact Ford Australia (Personal message via Facebook), give them your NSC number and ask for your VIN, you should be able to get it this close to build date.

Or give your NSC number to Deysha via a PM, she is awesome in helping us all here.
