Allow me to break down a GT350 VIN. Let's use 1FA6P8JZ0G5521434, which is a blue '16 Tech Pkg at a dealer near me....

1 = Country of production (USA)
F = Manufacturer's code (Ford)
A = Division within manufacturer
6 = Safety/Braking Type
P = Passenger Car (as opposed to SUV, truck, crossover, van, etc.)
8 = Mustang
J = Shelby GT350 Coupe
Z = Engine Code (5.2L FPC V8)
0 = Check Digit (must be a number 0-9 or the letter X)
G = Year Digit (2016)
5 = Assembly Plant Code (Flat Rock, MI)
521434 = Sequential build #, which started at 520001 for 2016 Shelbys

I wonder if I have X instead of a number is because mine got something called modification package and its a bit different to be able to ship it to the ME ! for example different radio frequencies and KM/hr instead of MPH and spare tire is standard.

Check digit can be 0-9 or X. It's based on the rest of the values of the VIN.

1FA6 are all others
The VIN does not distinguish tech, track, base.

1FAT is not *only* GT350R. 1FAT is the start of all convertible VINs.

The fourth position is restraint type:

6 = Manual belts with driver and passenger frontal air bags and side inflatable restraint (1st & 2nd row) and driver/passenger knee air bag

T = Manual belts with driver and passenger frontal air bags and driver/passenger knee restraint

The differentiating factor is the side curtain airbag.
