Rod bolts in an Identical NA motor are under exactly the same stress as a turbo motor at the same rpm. Since rod bolts are subjected to multiple compression and tension cycles per second, it is only a matter of time untill an improperly torqued one or a bad one fails. Aftermarket bolts are usually made of higher quality metal and are much less likely to have impurities as well as a greater tollerance for mistakes. I think Ford got a bad batch back in 2014 and it's pure chance. There is really no way to check for it without pulling the bolts out and checking stretch or for cracks. Might as well rebuild it if you do that.

I live close to a stupid long canyon road that I used to have some fun on with my stock turbo so I decided to take it out and see how the stage 2 compared. It's still a lot of fun on canyons! I just knock it down a gear basically and it's still a little slower coming out of the hole but overall not sacrificing a whole lot of what used to be one of this car's most entertaining attributes. I'm happy to find out its not just a highway car, because In Cali, highway traffic is stupid slow anyway.

I drive mine in a Canyon right by my house too. I did it last night. You are exactly right, just knock it down a gear, and its a very fun car in the twists. Just be careful not to light the tires coming into boost too hard..:)

Its not bad at only 21 psi, the 12.13 on 93 octane at 113 mph. My car is very heavy, has every option there is, 3785 lbs with driver. Guess my point is any tuner should be able to make a tune for 93 octane with this turbo and the car will run low 12s maybe even high 11s with a good 60 ft.

My 11.68 at 116 was with the stock turbo, race fuel, and in pretty good air, with the wick turned up all the way. Apples to Oranges

Where do you we pick up 93 octane out here?
LOL, Sorry buddy you gotta mix it, it sucks. I mix 1.5 gallons Sunoco GT260 which is 104 octane with 8.5 gallons Shell or 76 91 octane. Everyone with an Ecoboost in CA probably should be at least mixing there fuel here in CA, 91 truly is useless !!!

When I get the AUX fuel going, and the new engine in, as high as the Turbo will go !!!

Im just playing around right now for fun. I put my stock 19" PP wheels and tires on the other day, gonna see if I cant go in the 11s with them turned up a few more psi of boost. Hope to go a high 11 low 12 at 115 - 116 on the factory tires. Makin a sleeper .....
