Uses for spare phone line

I have a T-Mobile mobile veteran family plan that includes a line that was free with some promotion. Someone is leaving the plan and the carrier policy is the free lines go first. So obviously I'll keep the line for future use but wonder if there are some other temporary uses I may not have thought of. The line is unlimited everything.

Use it as a Hotspot share on a device that doesn't always use WiFi (or lend the signal to someone in your immediate circle who can use it)?
