I find it interesting how CA ends up playing shell games. I read just last week about a municipality in the LA area that paid a multi-million settlement because they cut a fire break in a public park. Environmentalists built a convincing case implying that the park was the only home to some unique creature's habitat, and cutting firebreaks would cause its demise. [Maybe one of our forum members is aware of, and can provide a link to that article.]

I hear frequently that CA is deeply concerned about global warning, but it apparently hasn't figured out that catering to special interest groups demands, results in Catch-22 situations. But hey, CA wildfires are exempt to contributing to global warning. So, no harm, no foul, right? :crazy:

The author of the news article I mentioned mused....Did the creature survive the devastating fire....or if he did, did it's habitat survive?
